+i went to the house where it is now and noticed i never signed it... this is because i couldn't decide which way i wanted it to go and i think i liked it vertical better, but it was just too big to be hung vertically so that was my second choice. and now i remembered i still haven't gone there to sign it as promised +

I have done that with two pieces. Hehe! The people who bought them always seem a little angsty, especially since I moved. We should really sign them some day. .... someday

Love your work man. Keep it comin'!

+yeah, we shouldn't do that
i walked past the apartment of a lady who's bought three prints and a painting from me over the years. i could always see my painting on the dining room wall from across the street, and the three prints together in the living room wall. well this time the painting had been replaced by one of the prints... the curtains were drawn and i couldn't see the other walls, so i wonder... maybe she doesn't like it anymore
maybe she sold it and i should go cash my %
thank you, and don't forget to check out *Atanasio , the sponsored link of the month!

im surprised +zeruch himself hasnt commented on this.
i dont know what to say other than wow wow ow...thats an amzing color really...i see deserts and clouds and old cities and maps, even...who knows what else, i wonder how this one feels under the fingers and looks like close up. whats that reflectiveness off of the top, by the way?

he probably skipped it up on accident, hopefully he'll comment now. ahem
it really is a shame you dont have a digital camera, you could take all sorts of close ups...those are always fun to do. maybe scan parts of it? or is it far too large?

+i know, it breaks my heart...
it has many textures that can't be seen, and thread-like lines i found and then outlined with brown and orange fineliner... the shine off the top is just the crappy photograph's fault. the other side looks too dark, too +

+i'll let you in on a secret: this piece practically painted itself. first, i primed the canvas with water-based white enamel, then splattered some more around and worked the paint to build a texture. once dry, i always throw in a wash (acrylic paint, water and white glue. equal amounts of paint and glue) to make the textures stand out and have something to work with... well, i did this in my apartment's balcony, and let it to dry there. turns out the balcony had a slight inclination, and most of the paint pooled on one side, leaving all kinds of interesting trails and stains on its way. i smiled and rotated it so the wash would make its way down the other end of the canvas. i did this with many colors and ended up with plenty to work with. another thing i did was splattering water on the drying paint, so it would disperse over the original stain, creating overlapping layers. i also used thick brushes to darken some areas or add colors, and then sprayed those areas with a vaporizer loaded with water, which caused them to blend beautifully. i also marked out some of the edges of the wash stains with a dark brown pen to bring them out. i wanted to try out the rings i saw in some of +zeruch 's pieces, so i sketched them with watercolor pencils (so the lines would disappear later) and then rubbed the background along the lines with a wet brush, cleaning up the rings' body and leaving a darker outline due to the displaced pigment. then i outlined them over with markers... i turned the canvas over and over again. it was very difficult to decide which side was the "correct" one. it works well like that, but my favourite was is vertical, with the small, more detailed ring on the upper side.
that's the how. now go play +

sounds really interesting... you're really brave i wouldn't be able to work such a 'free' way.. maybe once in the future
i should try...
and the best thing is that the result seems to be composen very minutely and carefully...
