if saffron x coco is my favorite ship, short fuse x silver shill is probably my second favorite ship. they are tiny men who are in love and are so sweet to each other AND JUST ASHDFJLASDFJG RGRRA *FROTHS AT THE MOUTH*

Short Fuse and Silver Shill met in an unorthodox way, what with the Washouts making their debut and needing a salesman to help out. Shill just got out of a messy situation in Appleloosa and was back on track to taking jobs to help small businesses and just lend a helping hand whenever he could. He was willing to advertise, help make merch, and basically be the manager for the Washouts in the beginning. He loved helping out the rambunctious crew, they really invited him in and he felt like even if they were a bit...wild, at times, that he could learn about getting out of his comfort zone from them. Short Fuse especially caught his attention, with his humor and surprisingly well-mannered self, but also the ability to stand up to anything. It was so admirable....and...attractive, maybe...?

Short Fuse learned overtime that Silver Shill definitely 100% made his heart go out of it's comfort zone. Whenever he was mad, Shill would get him some water or sit down and patiently listen to all of his rants. He was the first pony not to make fun of his height, and taught him how valuable it was to just...be nicer. He came from under the judgmental gazes of his mothers, Stormy Flare and Miss Harshwinny who spent the majority of their life wanting Spitfire to come back and being mad that he wasn't like her. He was too tiny, too annoying, not polite enough, had anger issues. It had been so long since someone accepted him for who he was. B-But Lightning Dust and the others did that already, this wasn't any different--!

But it was.

And one day, Short Fuse just boiled over after a Washouts performance. Silver Shill offered him a popcorn snack "on the house" and winked at him because obviously Short Fuse could get any snacks from his own establishment whenever he wanted. He burst out and said, "Goddammit you think you're so funny, and you know what? You are, and I love that and everything else about you and it PISSES ME OFF!"

Lightning Dust and Rolling Thunder looked on in shock, horror, and...gave each other those knowing female smirks. Silver Shill stuttered and stammered before just nodding and squeaking out, "Well, I think the same thing. About...you, not me." And so the rest is history.

1. Short Fuse has to step out of the Washouts spotlight a lot to tag along with his family stuff. What with Spitfire being the captain of the Wonderbolts, the last he can do is support her since they get along at least. Also because he's forced to by his mothers so that he can "learn from his sister instead of doing hooligan circus shows" or whatever the hell they say. These fancy diplomatic gatherings used to piss Short Fuse off, even though he could pull of an incredible performance of chivalry and respect that had been nailed into him from a young age. He could name every rich equestrian in Canterlot in alphabetical order and everything they were known for. But ever since he started dating Silver Shill, they decided to go to the events together to at least make it fun and bearable. Silver Shill squeals over seeing celebrities and squawks at the sight of the rich cuisine, and it makes Short Fuse smile every time.

2. When Silver Shill and Short Fuse start dating, he gradually stops being their manager since they got o much bigger, and turns into more of an absolute mega fan. He always thought the Washouts were cool, if not scary. But the more he paid attention to them, the more he was in awe, especially of Short Fuse. The way he zipped and zoomed through all the obstacles, and the triple decker backflip, and the this and the that--OOOOH IT WAS JUST SO COOL!

3. These are their kiddos, Scarlet Winds and Tropical Thunder (name courtesy of BubaIuv )! I'll post their references separately and have more information on them later, but I'll give you a general rundown.

Scarlet Winds is a fucking giraffe, she's just so tall for no reason and could pick up and throw both of her dads with no problem at all. She's goofy, bouncy, way too hyper and especially not careful of her surroundings. But she is a sweetheart who wants to participate in anything and everything, even if she'll be a detriment in the end. She's nowhere near as nerdy as she looks, and in fact takes multiple sports to deal with her high energy. But she'd be lying if she didn't squeal over books and drawings. She's a handful of a daughter, that's for sure. But she was the one who inherited Short Fuse's anger issues, and it can be quite terrifying....

3-4 years older brother Tropical Thunder, on the other hand, is incredibly kind and considerate. He's the older brother, and always had to hold Scarlet down if she was wrestling with Short Fuse too hard and Silver Shill wasn't there to save him. Troppy was always more mellow and studious, and took great care of her sister when their dads were busy, or needed a helping hoof. He likes to sit on the sidelines and just keep an eye on everything in general. But he's a hopeless somewhat jock-esque romantic and always takes action against wrong in the world, making him the target of many swooned horses who can't help but admire his bravery. And even pity him because he has to "deal with" his sister, and sometimes he wonders if they're right...

4. The height chart. It's as true as it is embarrassing. Tropical Thunder had outgrown Short Fuse by around 15, while Scarlet did it when she was 7. She was the same height as her older brother by 12. Some say she's still growing to this day.

Fun fact: Scarlet can easily turn Tropical into a stammering pissed off mess by calling him her little brother, because as she says, "Even though it's not true, it is."
