Assuming you use Photoshop:
In your layers palette, bottom right, you should be able to see a tab called "channels", click that, then press and hold ctrl+ left click (on your mouse) the very bottom layer, this will seelct the parts of the c4d, then simply press ctrl+c to copy, then ctrl+n for a new canvas, press ok, then ctrl+v and voila

Effects ones are usually on a black BG, and have nice effects to them, like bright bits in many places and/or the perspective of the image makes it look like the image is zoomed out.. depth basically.
