just saved your image and worked on a layer above it.
(also, it helps to have pressure sensitivity so you can draw spiky tips)

I should have pressure sensitivity, so that's good. And if worse goes worse I suppose I could go between GIMP and Sai, if needed.
As much trouble as this character's being, I hope she at least wins 3rd in the contest I wanna enter her in. XD
