I make them to order, so I could happily take a commission from you for this pair, though I would have to pop you on a waiting list for after Christmas now as I'm just finishing up the last few commissions to reach people before Christmas.

Send me a private note if you'd like to know more!

I haven't made a Castiel plush yet as these Supernatural characters were for commission rather than for myself. I would love to make one though. I shall note you with the commission information!

Aw, those are so cute I really like Dean's necklace, very well done. Though I remember that his charm was silver wasn't it? Though fandom has turned it gold it seems. Still great though, no matter the color.
I really like how you do their hair It looks so nice. Does it all go on in one piece? I've seen people that do the hair as a wig And then push it onto the head. Though yours look more sewed on. Which is cool O.O Does Sam have some stubble? Or is that the light? I really like Dean's jacket, it looks cool how it stands up like that. Your style is really unique
Sam's belt buckle is awesome XD He looks bit bit like a cowboy, which is adorable.
Does Dean have a gun? O.- It looks awesome from what I can tell. Do you have it held in his coat by a strap or something?

One more thing, I really like the pants ^.^ They look so simple, which just increases the cuteness factor IMO. In fact, all of your clothing looks simple, yet very well done.

Great job, as always. These just scream creativity ^.^

Jeez >.> I ask too many questions. Feel free to ignore them XD, but I just can't help it, your stuff is the highlight of my day when it comes into my deviantwatch, and I become fan girl over it o.O Especially Supernatural stuff.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

StitchedAlchemy In reply to Yarrow7 [2011-10-31 17:56:40 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... all the pictures I saw of both replicas, and on Dean, it was gold. :/

Thanks. ^^ Well the basic hair like Sam's goes on with a back piece and a front piece. The back piece has the spiky detail at the sides. I just pin the pieces to their relevant sides, and sew round the head to pull them together and secure them on the head. With hair like Dean's, it's the same concept, but then I glue all the spikes on separately. So he has like... a plain base hair, which establishes the basic hairline, then the detail is added on top. It's a hell load more effective than having to make sure you glue on enough pieces to cover up all the gaps through which you might see the head.

Sam does indeed have a little bit of stubble. The reference I was using, he has an ickle bit. More midnight shadow rather than stubble.

Yeah. He's got his Colt Pistol, which you can see fully in the individual Dean deviation. The pistol does actually stay relatively well inside the jacket without having anything to secure it, but I did put a little loop inside to make sure the pistol didn't fall out and get lost.

It is simple. ^^ Literally just a case of holding the fabric behind the plushie and cutting round the plushie shape with a bit of room for hems. I didn't want to make it too complicated, because then you start bulking up the plushie with all these joints in the clothes, and they don't always fit as well cos they end up being a bit bigger when you try to account for more hems.

Thanks so much!! I don't mind Very honoured to be able to lighten the day for you Well, at some point I'll be making another Sam in different clothing and a Castiel for the person who ordered the first Dean, so you can see some more Supernatural stuff then!

Yarrow7 In reply to StitchedAlchemy [2011-11-01 02:35:19 +0000 UTC]

I have found by the pointing out of someone below me >.> that it is indeed some sort of gold color Which I didn't notice in the show o.O Too hard for me to see with my weak glasses. Sorry o.o

That's so cool O.O And I'm sure it looks more seamless than gluing them on Which is always a good thing

That's so cute XD I've never seen a picture with him having 'midnight shadow' as you call it o.O Never heard that term till you used it, but it sounds sexy. *Coughs* Sorry, romance brain kicking in.

Sweeeet o.O Your accessories are always cool. The Colt rules ^.^

That's an interesting idea. Doing lots of different pieces also makes it so the seams start to bust open >.< Which is very annoying, and terrible looking. Your little guys look very clean cut.

Glad And that's EPIC. Cas is my favorite character, so I'll be looking forwards to seeing him in your style ^.^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StitchedAlchemy In reply to Yarrow7 [2011-11-01 17:38:11 +0000 UTC]

No worries.
Yeahh, I saw that person after I replied to your comment and visited the deviation page. Would've been nice if they'd actually commented on the plushies rather than just criticise your comment. :/

Tehehe. Well, I wanted to include all the detail I could. This is one of the reference pictures I used: [link]
He's just got a slight stubble shadow.

Thanks. ^^ Gah, I didn't really like the idea of having to make the Colt twice more, because I couldn't remember how exactly I put it together the first time. I knew I had made it in separate pieces and blended them together into the whole gun, but I couldn't quite figure out how I'd done it, and I couldn't get the shape right for the new pieces. Got it eventually. And documented it. >>

Mm, if you try and include too much hem in a small area, it doesn't work. Illustrated by the time I attempted to give a female plushie a bit of shape at the front by adding in some extra pieces, but when I turned the body inside out, the seams just undid themselves at the edges. But hey, it would be harder to make clothes fit if my female plushies had shape. xD

Excellent. Well, if all goes to plan, as asked for by the person, he'll have detachable wings.
Looking forward to that.

Yarrow7 In reply to StitchedAlchemy [2011-11-02 02:21:19 +0000 UTC]

^.^
Mm, I agree >.> It wasn't like I was putting you down on my comment, just asking a question. Besides, the point is to talk about your plushies, not other peoples comments on them.

Well that is just an awesome picture o.O You did very very well on making them look alike. So cute XD

Eesh, I've had that problem before >.> With other things that I didn't care to take pictures of during the process. Good idea, for next time o.O

I had thought of the fact that female plushies never had any chest. But Then I thought they were so much like chibis, that it didn't really matter. I suppose it would be, never thought about it being harder to pull the clothes on.

That will be so adorable XD Are you making them with feathers?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StitchedAlchemy In reply to Yarrow7 [2011-11-04 16:31:05 +0000 UTC]

Yess... >.>

Thank you ^^ I try my best

It was my Harley Quinn plushie that I thought could use some chest, considering her outfit, but it went horribly. Then I realised that I'd have to make more tailored torso clothing to go around any shape I would've managed to create. So I didn't bother with any second attempts. I think I was trying to create too much detail in too small a space, with too loose a fabric. Calico frays a little when you sew it, so doing small scale detail with it isn't all that practical.

That's the thinking right now. Wings without feathers just wouldn't be awesome!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Yarrow7 In reply to StitchedAlchemy [2011-11-04 17:44:53 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome

Ah I see, she has to have one of the coolest outfits of your stuff o.O But anyway, I can imagine how that might not have worked out. Fraying is annoying >.< And though felt doesn't fray, the fact that it gets so d*mn fuzzy whilst you try to mess with it, makes it almost as annoying

I have to say I agree with that. Though I'm really kinda against getting feathers, if I don't get them from a source of no animal cruelty >.> Which is probably not the easiest to find, but that's how it goes. I've never seen Cas with wings before, in the shows o.O Perhaps I need to get further...wait, those sort of spectral wings must be the thing that people are drawing o.O I didn't think of that until just now

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StitchedAlchemy In reply to Yarrow7 [2011-11-06 22:43:24 +0000 UTC]

Yess. She is my favourite in terms of detail!
I won't say favourite overall because I love them all.

It certainly is. And yes with the felt too. Though mine's pretty good for not being too fuzzy/fluffy - it only goes bad when I've glued it and changed my mind about it later so it goes fluffy when I rip it off. The only issue is strength. If I cut hair spikes too thin, they'll just break at the tip and come off. :c But luckily I think that only happened with Red John 1's hair.

Ah, fair enough. Didn't think of it that way. :/
Well I don't actually watch it myself, but looking up reference pictures for the future Castiel plushie making, all you ever see is dark wing shadows on the wall behind him - you don't actually see the wings.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Yarrow7 In reply to StitchedAlchemy [2011-11-07 17:13:31 +0000 UTC]

She has a lot of it, that's for sure
Yeah I know what you mean, that would be like me trying to pick a favorite out of all my writing characters o.o It's impossible.

Nothing usually good comes out of trying to rip something glued off >.> Always tends to mess it up one way or another. Mm, I have the same problem with felt. I suppose you would have to use something...stronger for it o.O Though what is beyond me.

I tend to think of that kind of stuff with anything that came from an animal :/ Just the way my brain works.
True, true. Cas is adorable really, if you wanted to watch the show, it would be worth it just watching it for him XD The guy is a really good actor o.O

Besides The Mentalist, what kind of shows do you like to watch? I find myself becoming interested in Merlin, but I've never put forth the effort to get it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StitchedAlchemy In reply to Yarrow7 [2011-11-08 12:55:59 +0000 UTC]

Yeahhh... :]
Mmm, they're all so adorable and lovely. Each one is special in their own way.

Well I'm sure you can buy different types of felt that are stronger and not as fluffy to begin with - I just haven't found any myself yet. It would end up being a different thickness as well, and probably slightly different colours. I'm used to what I have now. I don't really like change. Hence the ongoing battle to find my leatherette again. I thought I'd found it on eBay, so I sent for a sample. After a couple weeks, it hadn't arrived, so I asked for another one. After longer, that hadn't arrived either, so this time it's being sent first class tracked. If that doesn't arrive I may scream. >

Fair does. Good on you.
Eh, I did watch the first episode a little while ago, but I didn't really like it. I like slightly less dark TV shows. Which is probably why I've given CSI a miss for a few weeks - there were some nasty cases. And it was all sposed to be more uplifting with the new supervisor coming in. :/

Right. TV shows...
I watch Mentalist, Castle, House, CSI (though may have given up on that one), Justified... started watching Mad Men, but never got round to watching any more... I have Buffy the Vampire Slayer which I didn't watch when it was first on TV, but decided to watch it after a couple Buffy related plushie commissions, so got all the videos cheap from a charity shop... that's awesome. I think that's it.

Ahh, my friend loves Merlin. I never really decided that I would actually watch it myself. I did watch a couple episodes, but I wasn't really taken with it enough to watch it all. I think a monster was a bit weird and silly, and that may have put me off a little.

What about you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Yarrow7 In reply to StitchedAlchemy [2011-11-08 21:05:29 +0000 UTC]

Agreed ^-^

I've tried making stuff out of felt, and I've tried a few kinds, but none of them were stronger O.- Indeed, the felt I've been using recently is not very strong at all, and I'm losing patience with it >.> And yes, the different types of felt are different thicknesses, but I've never gotten involved enough with it to really think that far into it.
Change is very annoying, especially when you've been using something for a long time. That is why it is smart to buy a lot of something that you really like, that way if it suddenly vanishes, you're not out of luck. Eesh, that sounds like a pain in the ***. I would be flipping out as well >.< Best of luck with that venture.

I didn't think I would like it when I heard about it. It seemed to...creepy, and I used to be a total chicken when it comes to that kind of thing. Hence the reason why when I first watched it, it totally mortified me. It wasn't until I kept going that I realized it wasn't really that realistic, and I started to feel less freaked out XD Now I can actually watch some adult movies, without worrying that I'll have to crawl beneath my bed to sleep afterwards (not that I can fit under my bed anymore...but you get the idea). I once saw some bit of a show, a cop show O.- And it had severed head in it. >.> Scarred me for life, though now I probably would find it stupid.
CSI? I've seen some of that whilst passing my parents room. But that was...years ago, so I don't know how it's changed. Too bad they didn't make it better.

Heard of everything but Castle. Is that an anime show? I've wanted to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but never got around to checking it out. Seen it at the library though, so I might have to get it

I've never seen it before O.- But I have a friend that says it's not bad, but not that great either. I dunno, I shall have to check it out I suppose.

Me? Not sure if you're asking what shows I like.
I also like The Mentalist, but only watched a few episodes of it on the internet. I like Smallville, Supernatural, Vampire Diaries (in very small amounts, otherwise it starts to annoy me >.>), Leverage, Torchwood, and that's all that comes to mind at this time

StitchedAlchemy In reply to Yarrow7 [2011-11-13 23:46:58 +0000 UTC]

Meh, me neither really. I just found some felt in a craft store and stuck with it. But I know I tried to find a different shade of felt at one point for my Spike plushie's hair, and my mum bought me some stuff from a different shop. There were layers in it which tended to split.
Plus, I keep seeing plushies on here with felt hair that looks really clean and unfluffy. So I'm wondering what kind of felt that is. :/

Mmm... well I wasn't freaked out by it as such. I think I just liked Sam's girlfriend and the relationship they seemed to have. It was really sweet. Then they go and kill her off like that. :C

There tends to be quite a few gruesome cases every now and then, I mean, what can you expect from a crime/forensics show? But for some reason, this recent nasty one, plus the fact I'm not convinced by the new guy, kinda put me off. :/ I loved it when the first supervisor was there. He was funny and kinda sweet.

Noo, Castle is a crime show. It's about an author, Richard Castle, who shadows a New York cop, Kate Beckett, for inspiration. He's based his next series of books on her. But now he's more going police consultant rather than author because he loves solving crimes and he's kinda inadvertantly leaving his writing behind a little. I love it. So cute and funny and awesome.

Buffy is worth it. I love it. Me with all seven seasons on video.

Yeah, I was. Sorry. Put the question a bit vaguely.
I quite liked watching Smallville when it was on TV quite a long time ago, but I found some episodes to be really interesting, and some to be dead boring. I also hadn't watched all the previous episodes, so was confused a little.
I watch Torchwood when that's on too. Though I don't think Mum, Dad and me were all that convinced by the Miracle Day series. I think it seemed a bit drawn out and gruesome at times. Wasn't as good as the normal series style that they had started with. :/

I wouldn't know :/ The felt I get is just that regular old stuff sold in the value packs at Wal Mart >.> So just that kiddie craft felt. I've never had it go fluffy on the hair. Then again, I've only ever made one plushie in my entire life o.O So...I dunno if it gets worse when you try to do things more complicated.

Yes, that was nice But yeah >.> Poor Jess. Ah well, Sam would have never gotten out of his safe hidey hole had it not been for the death of his beloved. So I guess it was necessary to the plot :/ Still sad though.

Ah I see! It sounds cute I might have to try and find it on the internet sometime.

Cool o.O I keep forgetting to get the seasons when I go to the library >.>

Tis fine. I figured it out. I've only see a few. I like the ones with Alicia and Clark >.> Sucks what happened with that, but there you go. Not sure if you've seen it, so I'm not going to start handing out spoilers o.O
I've only seen the first season It was pretty good, but jeez o.O Lots of sex in that show isn't there. I was terrified that my mother would walk up and see it. Didn't really bother me that much, seen worse >.> By accident of course. But still. There's the tiny problem that I have with the fact that...well no one on that show is really the model of goodness o.O I mean, all of them keep doing nasty things. Gwen keeps cheating on her boyfriend, Owen hops from women with little regard to any ones feelings, Jack gets pretty heartless...a lot o.O And Tosh...well I guess if I had to pick the two people I would say are the most moral, are Tosh and Ianto.

StitchedAlchemy In reply to Yarrow7 [2011-11-15 19:58:07 +0000 UTC]

Well, my felt'll do. It's not as if it completely self-destructs after a little wear - which is very hard to come by I look after them so well. They have they're own little cabinet. They're like, my own collector's dolls.

Yeahh... maybe I'm too much of a slushy romantic. I like it when things get cute and fluffy, not the other way round.

Meh, don't need to worry about spoilers, I probably won't watch it properly.

Yeahhh... it is a bit extreme at times. John Barrowman also likes to make a big thing out of the fact he's gay. It's not often comfortable viewing with mom and dad... xD Especially the hugely gay-relationship-orientated episode in the Miracle Day series where mom and dad were complaining and putting cushions over their faces. Oh wait... no that was funny watching. xD I was just laughing at them as they complained from behind their cushions.
Yess... don't expect too much good stuff from it. It is a bit dodgy at times.

That's adorable XD And cool o.O Who needs action figures?

I adore romance, so I know what you mean. But I only meant that the show wouldn't go anywhere if Jess had lived. Sam would have denied Dean, and they would have stayed apart :/

Ah, well Alicia has a very sad ending. Had me crying slightly >.> It was a terribly mean thing to do to her I think.

Not sure which one is that guy XD I don't know the actors that well. Is it Jack? Nice XD I watch that stuff in my room, so I don't have that problem, thankfully o.O I just stuff a pillow over the vent so my bro doesn't hear what I'm watching.
