Contest entry for :iconkyouxi: 's winter themed contest <3

I used Alsius for this because his element is winter and his design is based off of a Magpie (Adreo's is a Scarlet Tanager ) This was so much fun to draw and kind of challenging XD But I had a blast drawing this ;w;

HOW IT WAS MADE

Well, I use copics which are 7$ each and I also use some prismacolor which are 4$ each at michaels. Now I also use a mix of marker, and pencil
Mostly seen in Alsius and or "A winter Sonnet" [link]
Base color for the blue areas was light blue prisma color marker, then gone over it with a darker blue (but not too dark, enough to show up over the light blue and give it shading) Then I used a nice dark blue for shadow shadows then went over another layer with my marker c: Highlights however where done with gel pen.

Now the stripes on the tail. The white was shaded lightly with black prisma color pencil, then using my light 20% (think that's right) grey I went over just the small shaded areas. The black around them was just regular black pencil to give it some mroe pop and look.

I ink with black faber castell markers, using the small tip one. And normally after I'm done I go over hte outside with a bold medium tip (if it's not going to have a background background, just a white one XD )

Now the pants. Just straight up dark grey copic marker XD with some slight shading with the same marker, and highlights with white gel pen.

The wings: same with the blue area as said first XD and with the white area when it came to shading the stripes. However! The black was straight up black with just white highlights with the white gel pen.

The skin: Totally markers. I used a nice light skin base and have a different almost same toned skin marker with a prisma color marker for some shading and in cerain areas I used pink then went over again with ,y lightest skin tone. And again, highlihgts with white gel pen.

AND SO YEAH. That's a run down of how I made "A winter Sonnet"
