Draco Malfoy X Reader Part One: Sixth Year Slytherins

Your misty eyes glanced out the window as you watched the beautiful purple mountains pass by. You were breath taken as you took in the scenery. Sure this was at least the sixth time you had taken this trip, but the train ride to Hogwarts never got old. “Gorgeous, aren’t they?” You blinked as Luna’s soft voice broke your trace. You smiled over at the golden blonde haired girl and managed to nod. Your close friend Luna Lovegood smiled over at you.

“They always make me feel so tiny!” You exclaimed, “Even now, even though I’m going to be a sixth year. . .” You spoke as your gaze fell back over to the window. You shook your head before you could daze off again. “Luna please excuse me,” You smiled sweetly as you stepped out into the narrow corridor.

“Of course.” You heard her chirp as you walked away. It was good to see everyone again. You didn’t miss summer vacation in the slightest. You had just finished catching up with all your old friends and were now making your way to your actual seat.

Blaise noticed you first as you walked up to the table. He waved at you causing the others to turn around and see who he was greeting.

You nearly stood still as Draco back at you from his seat across a dark haired Slytherin girl. His cold grey eyes connected with your own (E/C) orbs for a second and you felt your breath hitch. You mentally kicked yourself. It hadn’t always been this hard to be around him, but by the end of fifth year you noticed you could hardly speak to him and began to avoid being involved with him at all.

The platinum blonde turned his attention elsewhere as you strode up to your friends and house mates calmly. “Hey there.” Marcus said from the table across where he sat with a couple of other Slytherins.

“Yo.” You said coolly and raised a single hand. You scanned your deep (E/C) eyes across the table. “Terence.” You nodded in the direction of the dirty blonde haired boy then turned to face Goyle and Crabbe who sat at the table with Marcus and smiled. You then turned back to the table you had aimed to sit at.

“Hey Pans.” You said as you waved to Pansy who was seated next to Blaise. You swallowed hard as you turned uneasily to Malfoy, ”Last but not least, hello Draco.” You smiled awkwardly.

The tall pale boy’s grey eyes shifted over to you, “Saved the best for last did you, huh [last name]?” He smirked. You laughed nervously.

“Long time no see.” You heard a familiar voice say as you watched your childhood friend Joe standing in the corner where you hadn’t noticed him before.

“Josey.” You smiled brightly at the tan lanky boy as you walked over to him. “I saw you last weekend!” You said as you hugged him tightly.

“What took you so long?” Your best friend asked as he moved strands of light brown hair from his sepia colored eyes. “I had business to take care of.” You winked playfully. Draco scoffed.

Your head snapped in his direction at the unexpected remark. He looked over at you too, his piercing eyes penetrated your confused (E/C) orbs. “Hanging with the mudbloods and half breeds?” He jeered coldly, “That’s business?” You blinked before you could respond. “A pure blood like you shouldn’t be seen with the likes.” He continued, his eyes never left your now shocked ones. The table of Slytherins all watched you for any reaction.

“Blood status doesn’t matter to me, Draco.” You stated blankly. The Malfoy boy cocked an eye brow at your answer.

“Sure.” He chuckled, “Alright then.” All eyes now turned to the Draco as he leaned back into his seat not seeming the slightest bit bothered. You didn’t like his answer, the look in his eyes was disbelief, but you decided to ignore it.

You looked back to Joe who now seemed a bit uncomfortable but offered you the seat he had been saving beside him. The table decided to disregard the conversation, If it didn’t matter to Draco, it didn’t matter to them. “What?” You whispered to Joe. He stared at you harshly. “What?” You repeated.

“I. . .” Josey started but didn’t finish. You waited for him to continue but he only shook his head. “Later.” He spoke calmly.

The rest of the train ride went quickly as you drifted into a sleep against Joe’s arm. He awoke you in time to change and gather your things, but you noticed that you felt relaxed after your nap. At first you thought it was because you needed the sleep, but then you noticed that a certain platinum haired Slytherin was gone. As you exited the train into the humid night Joe pulled you aside.
You looked up at your best friend more than a bit confused. “Draco,” He started as you sighed. “What?” He asked furrowing his brows.

“Don’t worry about what he told me, I—“

“No.” He interjected as his eyes hardened. Now you were worried, Joe was NEVER serious. “It’s not that.” He stated bluntly. “Somethings different; somethings wrong.” He explained as he released your arm.

You stepped back, “What do you think it is?” You asked trying to hide your own concern.
He shook his head, “I don’t know. Not yet.” He looked at you and said nothing for a moment.

“W- what?” You stuttered.

“It’s probably nothing,” He smiled his usual careless smile, “I just want you to stay away from him until my spidey senses stop tingling.” He said jokingly, but still sternly. You shifted uncomfortably in the dark and clasped your hands together.

“Okay.” You finally said half heartedly.

“Good girl.” Joe said as he jabbed you in your arm.

“Yeah…” You repeated in an uncertain whisper as you followed him down the path to our Sixth year at Hogwarts.
