"Tumbleweed is not something a lot of people are keen on. To us that live far away from any desert or semi arid region, we only see tumbleweed as this background object in the occasional wild west movie, doing the actions of its namesake and just moving with the wind to parts unkown. But ask anyone that lives in places where these plants grow and they'll eagerly tell you how much they detest them. To some it might come off as a surprise, but tumbleweed is actually an invasive species, originating from Eurasia, but once shipment became common place, they spread like wildfire in the U.R. and are now considered a huge pest. So if the normal plant is seen with such negative eyes, you can imagine what cruelties one would start manifesting in their heads if one of these plants grew legs and could walk in your house.

Desert Tangel is a cousin species of the famous Tangrowth line, having adapted to an arid environment. Normally, Tangel are shy creature that will almost never leave the shelter large shady forests offer, spending their days by hiding in burrows or under thick vegetation until they can evolve into their stronger Tangela forms and finally completing the line by becoming a Tangrowth. Only around 1/30 Tangel will live to see themselves become a Tangrowth since they're a preferred prey for many creatures due to their succulent vines and bodies. Despite this, the species has proven to be very resilient, surviving since the Miocene and thriving in the modern period. So taking into account the very shy nature of their base forms, when faced with a sudden environmental shift and now in a race for survival, Tangel took a rather simple, but efficient method to bear the desert and its blistering sun: hide underground. With their bodies submerged in the cool soil, they can absorb all the nutrients they need, while their modified branches allow them to filter the moisture in the morning desert air. They remain latent during the day, while at night they start to become more active, stumbling about their sandy home to find better places to root themselves in for when day break arrives. Unfortunately, places with high nutrients also equal those that are cool and offer a stable temperature to live comfortably in. And the only other places in the entire arid zone outside of natural patches of  vegetation that can offer such conditions are houses. That already have occupants in them. Which probably hate tumbleweed. And have worked hard to make their backyard in tip top shape, only for it to be filled with large sentient bushes overnight. Granted, in this stage of their lives, D-Tangel aren't like the dreaded plants they convergently evolved from, but most folk already know what they'll become and are more than eager to kick them back into their desert homes. While it isn't exactly the pokemon's fault to have stumbled in these places as they simply follow their natural drive for a comfortable living, it is the overall bad image the tumbleweed has amassed that makes them to be seen with much more hatefull eyes than they should be. And oh boy, if things are bad now, they'll only get worse once they evolve. "

Pokedex Data:

"If D-Tangel were at least returned safely back to their desert environment, any peaceful negotiations cease when they reach their next stage of evolution. Once they've matured and started to sproute seeds, their legs will begin to atrophy and retreat back into their bodies, while all their vital organs will concentrate deeper into the center of their now dead branchy crown and once the process it complete, it's tumbling time. No longer possessing any legs to aid in their locomotion, D-Tangela now solely rely on the wind to move them to different places, rolling and bouncing with no direction or destination in mind. All they're preoccupied with now is to spread as many seeds as they can until their internal functions shut off and soon become just dead plant being pushed by the current, even if they no longer have any seeds. This is due their inability to root themselves once the winds have stopped blowing and all their branches are dead, meaning that they're unnable to absorb air moisture. The only reason they're still alive at the start of their journey is due to supplies of water they managed to make inside their bodies during their D-Tangel stage, but once those run out, they'll soon perish due to a lack of hydration. It might sound sad, but this is the best way they can ensure a mass seeding of their kind and thus make sure the next generation will be born. Many seeds and even D-Tangel will be eaten, but due to the sheer amount of them spreading their seeds at once, such loses are insignificant. And these huge ammounts are also what attracts the ire of many.

As stated before, tumbleweed is not a plant many take a liking to and would be more than eager to get rid of it. And it just so happens that a creature has convergently evolved a life cycle similar to them to the point where they're indistinguishable. D-Tangela, just like tumbleweed, are seen as huge pests, having arrived to non native environments in a similar fashion to the invasive plant and with their reproductive cycle being nigh identical, it has made them be targeted with the same fervor as regular tumbleweed. However, while I can argue that with D-Tangel, the rather aggressive behaviour towards them can be a bit exaggerated, with D-Tangela is a bit more than justified. These pokemon have the tendency to mass tumble all at the same time and due to their huge numbers that have only kept rising in the last few decades, they can prove to be a serious threat to local towns and cities. One detail I omitted to metion is that their branches posses these small thorns that, if were to make contact with others of their kind, can actually adhere them to one another, to the point where they can form into giant rolling piles of dead plant matter that can clog up roads and block doors and windows, thus trapping people inside their own homes. And if that wasn't bad enough, they're also a serious fire hazard. In this stage, their bodies are 70-80% dead and dry, thus making them prime fuel for wildfires. While some might see public services collecting and disposing of these pokemon as cruel, keep in mind, by the time they've reached such a stage, they're most likely already dead and all that's left are just dried up branches."

D-Tangela ----> level up while knowing Rollout ----> Tanbundle

#??? - Tanbundle
Class: Tumbleweed Pokemon
Attribute: Fighting/Ground
Abilities: Combustion** and Dry Skin
HA: Invigorate**
Height: 2.23 m
Gender ratio: 50%/50%
Egg Group: Grass
Pokedex Data:

"Now with the D-Tangela essentially acting as the final step in their reproductive lives before kicking the bucket, you might think that this is where it all ends. While their cousins continue on with another stage, D-Tangela have fulfilled the purpose of their species and now can die knowing they assured another generation of their species, right? Well....not quite. Remember the part about their branches having thorns that allow them to stick to one another? This is where things can get very weird. If three D-Tangela can manage to survive for long enough and by some miracle cling to one another while still alive, an evolution process will be triggered that to this day is seen as an anomaly in the world of pokemon studies. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Tanbundle.

While Tangrowth is the final destination for all temperate zone Tangel and Tangela, for their desert species, no such stage exists. Theoretically. With the last of their seeds scattered across the arid region, there's no more need for the creature itself, which is why this is the last step in their evolution. But as mentioned above, things can get odd when they merge together. Upon adhering to two still living members, a D-Tangela will evolve into a creature that seems to go againts the very nature of their intended life cycle. Tanbundle, unlike their previous form, possess three long appendages that seem to be formed from the remains of their legs, now fused and repurposed into a working arm. They use these appendages to roll at high speeds across the desert ground and even roads, no longer needing the wind to move them. They use their arms to burrow deep into the ground to reach ground water and suck it up like a straw, storing it inside their bodies. Their branches now act as more of a defensive barrier for their soft bodies, while their arms can stretch and crack like whips. While these are some impressive adaptations for a creature well suited for life in the desert.....it's still odd how they developed all of this, yet everything related to their reproduction and supposed life cycle ends before this stage. And the strangest thing is that Tanbundle are capable of reproduction, but their breeding method is among the most bizzare out of all known species of pokemon. They'll burry themselves and from their bodies, three D-Tangel will sprout and slowly develop while feeding on the stored up water inside their parent's tissue. After they've developed legs, their eye and depleted all the water, they'll detach from their parent's corpses and go their separate ways, after which they'll follow the same life cycle as the other members of their species.

Now, knowing all of this, it does make you wonder where exactly did this final stage come from? D-Tangela, upon being formed, are almost completely dead and only serve as a vehicle for the spreading of their seeds. This oddity is further reinforced when you take into consideration the fact that Tanbundle live longer than their entire previous evolution line combined. D-Tangel live up to one year before dying as D-Tangela. Tanbundle? 4-6 years, with almost double the ammount in captivity. And by that time, no seeds exist nor do new ones ever form on their branches. Now, you might think that since these pokemon form from their pre-evos clinging to one another and most D-Tangela do tend to form giant piles of themselves and normal tumbleweed, they'll be a natural final stage, right? Nope. By the time D-Tangela form large enough bundles, they've long since expired and any new pokemon getting caught up by these piles will almost never bump into a living specimen and if they do, it won't be enough to form a Tanbundle. It's why annually only 2-3 are ever formed. Out of thousands of D-Tangela. It's for this reason why many look at Tanbundle as the luckiest creatures of the desert. Beating such impossible odd as surviving long enough to find other of their kind that are still alive to merge into a creature so powerfull. In fact, an old superstition in towns in or near arid regions is that if you see a Tanbundle racing across the land, you migh want to do everything you've set out to that day because you'll do it perfectly, as the pokemon you just saw blessed you with luck. I personally don't believe this since during one of my expeditions, I did stumble over one of these wonders of nature, only to find out that our car's engine died and we had to spend an entire night out in the desert!"

Wew, how long has it been since I posted a fakemon?

I also decided to drop the titles for each paragraph in the pokedex entry since I'm not creative enough to come up with a witty title for each block of text.
