Description
Techically done to try out a new painting technique, but wonderful in depicting worshiping the Lord. The feathery-type stuff is, in my brain, the breath of the Holy Spirit...just because I seem to be infatuated with breathing when I worship. Sometimes I just stop singing and bask in the presense of the Lord, just breathing in and out...knowing that he's all around me. Breathing him in.Acryllic on canvas. Sadly this is a photo and not a scan, so some details were lost in translation, such as the purple in the background. I'll try to get a scan as soon as I have money to go to Kinkos.

I kinda think that's the way it works, though... Ahaha, I find myself doing the very same thing a lot when worshipping. I think it's a pretty crazy experience and feeling. I think this is a really neat image--the painting stytle is cool and gives it this awesome stylized effect. I love that. And the concept you're portraying is something I think many people can relate to--very nice job. Very neat~!

I need large, high resolution versions of the images if you have them. The images, for submission to the publisher, need to be at 300dpi and 8.5x11 (standard size) or a smaller equivalent of those lengths is you want a border/whatever. As long as it begins as an 8.5x11, I can edit that to a smaller size, but... It needs to be around that and as close to 300dpi as possible.

what file type would I need to save it as to be 300dpi? I don't exactly know how to do that.

Oh... You need to put it on Photoshop or some other fancy editing program like that and change the IMAGE SIZE--it says DPI under those settings, or DOT PER INCH. But since it's smaller than that, it'll blow it up a bit and might make it look a little strange. But hopefully not since I had to manually do it with a few other submissions including my own, which I always only save at 200dpi. But you can save it as any file type like that, but .jpg would be best, please~
If nothing else, you can send them to me and I'll edit them for you.

Yes, of course! You've helped me to understand something today with this painting. Yes, the Holy Spirit is breath.....When the Holy Spirit comes on me sometimes my breath becomes very rapid and shallow, almost vibrational. Now it makes sense, if He's working on something in me it would affect my breath. Nice one

I'm taking a Bible class offered by my secular college once every ten years right now. A lot of times I spend most of the class defending truth, but yesterday I learned something cool: In the first verse of Genesis the bible says "and the Spirit of god hovered over the waters." In the original Hebrew, the word that is often translated as Spirit ALSO means "breath" and it translated THAT way sometimes. "The breath of God hovered over the waters." the Holy Spirit is also often depicted in the bible as "The Annointing" and often when Jesus talks about the annointing coming on people, he's talking about the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let me know how the breathing goes! It's just...well, the place is so filled with God when we worship that sometimes is overcomes me...Jesus feels so real I feel like I could breathe and his spirit would be the air entering every cell of my body through my lungs. Just...overcome, ya know? Overflowing with God.
