Don't know what a beta-reader is? It's a person that looks over your fanfic for inconsistencies, errors, continuity issues, out-of-character-ness, and problems like that before you post your fic.Fanfiction.net has a "beta readers" system for a reason. Use it, god dammit. Your work will not be perfect no matter what, but another person's input can help.

[Although if we're going to be honest here] the Beta-Reader thing on fanfiction sucks. I've been trying to get one for two weeks and no one is ever on. How do you even tell if they're on, read your message, or plainly just feel like ignoring you?
