A very personal piece, based upon my love of the ocean.

The beach and the ocean have been a very big part of my life since my early childhood. I was born in a coastal town, so I've spent a lot of time in and around the ocean. At one point I actually lived a few blocks from the beach. It has a great deal of meaning for me.

Recently, as I've been anticipating the arrival of spring and summer I have been thinking about summers at the beach, which inspired me to do this piece. I wanted to really apply that feeling and atmosphere to the canvas.

The beach is really my favorite place to be. I actually was just able to take an unexpected trip to the shore yesterday, ironically the day that I finished this piece.
