Description Custom order for a friend. This is a origami rose pin made from midnight blue/star Chiyogami paper. It measures about 2 inches across and coated with a special coating that makes it water resistant and durable.

I really loved how this piece turned out!

Yes I do...I modified the one in the book just a little and was going to draw up the modifications.. but it is going to take longer to do.. my dog got seriously ill and has to have a leg removed, so it is going to be a little bit before I get it drawn up.

Wow! Thanx to everyone for the wonderful comments! That's amazing! So how did I make it and where did I get the pattern from....Here ya go

Origami Jewlery by Ayako Brodek. Pg's 42-45. Now as a tip curl the edges of the sections before you coat them and I use a pin in the center so I have a hole in there already. I recommend applying the second coat 15 min after the first to give it a real nice luster. Also paper quality is a real big thing. I perfer using the Chriyogami due to the vibrant colors and fibrous qualities on the back end.

For gluing while folding I recommend a white glue and finish the folds before it dries. Should take about 2.5 hrs from start to finish

This particular piece takes 5 sheets of paper to make so each level of the rose is a sheet of paper in different sizes

If you have any more questions please let me know I like to share!

this one is praise worthy on all accounts, the folds are so crisp, and the pearl in the center just takes the cake ~holds up scoreboard~ a perfect 10: out of 10

Are the steps in this model the same as the origami lotus/water lily, except it's extended? I've experimented lots of times and I usually can't get a similar shape. I looks awesome! xD
