Description Episode 2: Wolf in hunter's clothes

October 23rd, 2237, 3:17 P.M.

The rain poured down on Ruined City, and the only sounds breaking the silence was the low rumble of thunder and Smoke's quiet grumbling as he stood hunched over the old, tattered, out-of-date city map. he knew some of the routes would be blocked, whether by debris, Imperials, or Ferals. He planned out multiple paths, folded up the map, and stuffed it into one of his disguise's ammo-pouches. He put his cigarrette back in his mouth, and crept down the alley, careful not to make any noise. The last thing he needed was attention, though he could probably pass off as an Imperial from a distance. If they decided to scan him, he wouldn't have an Imperial Friend-Or-Foe-Identifier (F.O.F.I), and then things would get very problematic.

He came across an exit, and used his old mirror-trick to make sure noone was in the area. Once he was absolutely positive the coast was clear, he walked out of the alley, and started down the street, doing his best to look like a Sniper who was missing his Spotter and had a bad smoking habit.

Unknown to him, a lone figure stood atop a crumbling 5 story parking garage, aiming a Mosin Nagant sniper rifle down at him. Clad in a pitch-black hooded rain-coat, standing perfectly still, and blended in flawlessly with the night sky, was the silent manhunter, Trent Leerings, known by his codename of "Shade". Trent shut the bolt of his Mosin Nagant, and prepared to fire, the disguise not fooling him for a moment. He got Smoke's head in the crosshairs, and rested his finger on the trigger. He started to squeeze the trigger when a gust of wind blew his hood infront of his eye. He brushed it out of the way, but Smoke was already gone. Shade pulled out his radio and muttered into it: "Renegade spotted, he's heading north through Sector 12, disguised as an imperial. Dispatch air support. Shade out." With that, Shade turned and started to leave the building, heading towards a new sniping spot.

Smoke was nearly at the end of the road when he heard a faint, rhythmic sound. It sounded far off, so he paid it no mind, glancing around at his surroundings. To his right was a completely demolished building, probably a restraunt at one point. To his left was an old wooden house that was falling apart. One of the shutters of the old building banged noisily agai nst the side of the building, causing Smoke to glance up. When he looked at the window, he thought he saw someone moving inside. He kept walking, and was nearly past the building when an Imperial Hunter Chopper raced over the rooftops, heading right at him. Smoke glanced at it, squinting and holding his arm up to keep the pouring rain out of his eyes. Maybe it was here to pick him up? One could hope. It got close enough that he could see the main turret on the front of the helicopter, he realized it was aiming at him, and dove to the side as the Hunter opened fire. The rounds missed him by mere inches, close enough for him to feel the heat and wind of the rounds zipping past him. He rolled to his feet, and ran inside the old wooden building for cover. He slammed the door behind him, and pressed against the door with all of his weight.

The light above him flickered, and he glanced up at it. From above, he heard the scraping of heavy furniture being pushed across a wooden floor, followed by foot-steps heading towards another room upstairs. With each step, dust fell free of the celing directly below the step, and slowly floated through the air. There were technically several things it could possibly be, but Smoke's instinct told him only one thing: Ferals. And where one Feral decides to make his den, other follow him. Smoke quickly swapped back into his uniform, dropping the Imperial uniform to the ground, and lightly laying the PSG1 and Colt .45 on the ground, careful not to make noise. He hefted his silenced Mp5, and smiled thinly at it's familiar weight, the feel of it's old, worn grip, and best of all, it's full-auto setting. The light above him flickered again, and then went out, sending the downstairs room into total darkness, with only the glowing ember of Smoke's cigarrette and the crack of lightning outside giving any light. He clicked on the Mp5's flashlight, and aimed at the stairs. "A Hunter chopper, and Ferals ontop of that? Great, just my luck..." Despite that, Smoke thought he had a plan to take both out. He kneeled down, keeping his eyes and Mp5 trained on the stairs, reviewing his plan in his head. He had to be sure it worked, his life could very well depend on it.
