Description The river pulls backwards and frontwards and sidewards
It pulls all that’s inwards, outwards from the soul
You steady in eddies that run though the filter
Of rough river silt, purge the dirt ‘till you’re whole.

This picture reminds me so much of the summer camping holidays that my family used to take when I was a child. Though it was never an otter in the water, mostly it was driftwood - but sometimes if we were lucky it would be a turtle or a platypus.

Beautiful work! Water can be so hard. This really captures it.

Aww... someone else already commented. I feel like this will be over-commenting, but hey, you can never get too much praise... or can you? Well, here you go anyway!

First, to be honest, I thought this was a photo when I first saw it. I was surprised to realize it was digital art, so kudos for that.
The way you made the highlights on the water makes it look like real water--splendid job! Furthermore, the otter looks well-done, and the shadows beneath him and other places make it look so much more realistic.  That is why I love this.

Sadly, I do not like how much highlights you have on the water, because they block the otter just a wee bit too much for my liking---next time just do a few less, okay? Furthermore, I feel like something needs to be underwater besides the otter---perhaps a few rocks would make it look better. Anyway, wonderful job!

Thanks! And you're right - the more opinions and comments I can get the better. Everyone sees things differently and has different experiences to share, and hearing from everyone definitely helps my art.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my art, I really appreciate it!

Thanks, I always draw blue water and figured it was time for a change.

This piece is lovely! The colours give the image a warm and peaceful atmosphere and the way you've painted the ripples is fantastic, very eye-catching indeed. The otter itself is very nice too, the pose and anatomy is accurate and the colour works well with the water.

However, the otter seems 'overpowered' by the water ripples and its 's a little hard to see all the wonderful details you've painted. I'd suggest maybe having the head peeking out of the water? Just to give the painting a a more obvious focal point.

Overall fantastic piece! Keep up the great work!

Hello! I'm commenting on behalf of "Project Comment"!

This piece is really beautiful! It's simplistic, which is one of the things, I think, that makes it so eye-catching! I absolutely love the way you drew the water! It looks like it would be evening, with a beautiful sun set in the sky and on the world! It look wonderful!

The otter, beings an otter, is adorable!!! His pose is great,  and I love how he is looking up at the viewer from under the water! Wonderful job!!!!
One thing I could suggest having the slightest bit of change would be the te river otters color. I would fade his figure more, maybe adding a transparent layer of gold color over it, a color like the water he is in, so it looks more like he is under the water, rather than just under water streaks.

Tis is piece emedietly caught my eye! It is very beautiful! Wonderful job over all! I hope I helped. keep up the good work!

Thank you so much!

The otter actually has several transparent layers over hims, but I was worried about pushing it too far - obviously I need to stop being so timid with my colouring
I absolutely agree with the blurring, I should have done more of it.

I really appreciate you taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment. Thank you!

Haha! I know how you feel! I, too, get scared of over doing it with my colors! Totally understandable!

And no problem! I'm glad I had time to take out of my day to help someone else! I'm glad you apriciate it! makes me feel really great! Thank you! :3
