some miscellaneous Steelton Fire Department trucks
Rescue 1 is the only rescue company in the city. it's staffed by 6 firefighters and responds to all specialty rescue incidents. the company runs a 2016 Seagrave Marauder II with a Federal Signal Q2B and a Motorola Spectra. Rescue 101 is the spare rig, a 1996 Spartan Gladiator equipped with a Motorola Spectra siren. MCU 1 is 2005 Bluebird All American FE equipped with extra beds and medical supplies for large scale emergencies.
Hazmat 1 is a 2016 Seagrave Marauder II staffed by 5 firefighters and responds to all hazardous materials incidents, not just in Steelton, but in the surrounding towns that don't have hazmat trained firefighters. Foam 1 is a 2000 Seagrave Marauder that was refurbished in 2016. the truck was converted from a standard engine to a foam tender. the truck also has several containers of powdered foam that can be added to regular water to make foam. Hazmat 101 is the reserve hazmat truck, and runs a 1997 Freightliner FL-70.
Steelton has 3 quick attack units, they're all used for responding to brush fires and other small fires in areas a large fire engine can't access
Water Rescue 1/Dive Rescue 1 respond out of Engine 7's quarters, right by the ocean. this station is also home to Marine 1, a SAFE boats 35' full cabin rescue boat.
Heavy Rescue 1/Technical Rescue 1 respond to incidents where a crane or tow truck may be needed. things like vehicle accidents, building collapses, fallen trees, etc. because of the rarity of these situations, Heavy Rescue 1 also serves as the fleet services tow truck, and will tow fire apparatus if needed. Technical Rescue 1 contains additional equipment for Rescue 1 and Heavy Rescue 1 to use. both companies aren't staffed 24/7, specially trained firefighters from other companies will respond when needed
Collapse Rescue 1/1A respond to building collapse incidents. Collapse rescue 1 contains equipment like airbags, shovels, steel plates, etc. for confined space rescues, and trench collapses while Collapse Rescue 1A contains cribbing, timbers, and other tools for stabilization of structural collapses. Collapse Rescue 1 is not staffed 24/7. specially trained firefighters from various companies respond when needed.
