Giant Project of DOOM...finished.

So, if you've been watching me for a while or are familiar with my gallery, this may seem familiar to you...a couple years ago I illustrated a really horribly tragic and cynical poem I had written that is a metaphor for how people misuse things and then destroy them when that misuse results in someone getting hurt, even though there are people out there who want to cherish those things.
So, you can see it that way. Or you can just believe that I am a misanthrope that wants to manipulate people's emotions and then crush them. Either may be valid.

Anyway, I made this poem into a children's book for my Concept Development class final when I was just a few quarters in at The Art Institute, and lemme tell you...it was a JOB OF WORK. You can see it here: [link]

Well, since that time, my illustration skills have progressed somewhat, and my boyfriend kept suggesting that, for my graduation portfolio, I should have a completed project...not just a collection of random things, but a project that showed that not only am I creative, I also can create something cohesive, from beginning to end...and re-doing the book was often his number 1 suggestion. Of course, with this I will also be showing that I have a messed up brain, but whatevs.

I'm graduating this quarter, and so I finally gave in. And in about 5 weeks, along with working on other projects (and with the wonderful advice and input of my ex-illustration teacher, Mr. Mark Bender), re-illustrated this whole...damn...thing.
I have barely left my couch.
I never want to draw rolling hills or fur again. Or at least for like...a week.

But...it is done. I even have a cover and a dedication page and all that junk. And will be printing about 50 of these to give out to potential employers.
