If Asriel meets Flowey, who's going to be the first to say "Hey, I'm you"?

I feel like the only way that would happen is it Flowey somehow went to the past, because the only way Asriel wouldn't know who Flowey is is if it were before he died.

If Asriel did die and Frisk didn't go get Flowey, I was thinking that several years later, there could be some sort of rebirth.

I've seen an AU where Asriel was saved after Frisk split their own soul in half and gave it to Asriel (Endertale), but how would rebirth work in your scenario?

I have no idea.
Hold on, I'm confused. Did Asriel actually die per say, or did he turn back into Flowey?

Asriel turned back into Flowey after he shattered the barrier, but realistically Asriel is dead. Flowey has Asriel's memories, but can no longer feel love and changed drastically because of it, technically he is his own character and is no longer Asriel.
Here's a video that goes more in depth on Asriel's death: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t-Cvpā¦ (skip ahead to 15:44)

If Asriel really turned to dust and died, that would defeat the purpose of the whole "nobody has to die" thing.

Asriel died long before that, though. Back when he and Chara combined their souls and went through the barrier, Asriel refused to fight back the humans that were attacking him, and he died for what he believed was the right thing. Asriel returning for the game's final fight was out of Flowey's intention to destroy the timeline once and for all, but Frisk's persistence to save Asriel from that way of thinking was what made him change his mind and instead use his powers to break the barrier and set the monsters free. Asriel was never meant to be saved. While his original plan to free the monsters ended up with him dying, in the end he has no regrets. "Don't kill, and don't be killed".
Some people specify that, while Asriel is trully gone, Frisk would still want to save Flowey despite that he is no longer Asriel, because of their pacifism. Just because he isn't what he use to be doesn't mean he doesn't deserve mercy. While I understand and appreciate this thought, I still keep in mind Asriel's last wish was for Frisk to remember him the way he is/once was, because ultimately Flowey is not like him, and can't ever be like him. It's like remembering a friend you use to know in elementary school and wondering what they're doing now. If you try to find them in the hopes of rekindling that friendship, there's a high chance that it'll only sabotage what good memories you had of them. They could be drastically different now compared to who they use to be. It's better to remember how they once were than to face the reality of how they are now.
