Okay, just stumbled on your gallery. Diggin' it.

On this shot, I would point out that although the kukris look good with opposite angles, the off-hand (left) would be compromised in an actual encounter. Better to keep the edge away from the arm, even with the reversed, defensive grip. If the edge is toward the arm, an attacking beast or man could press it against the flesh, causing injury.

I intend this as advice, not criticism of your most excellent works.

I agree with you 100% as a two weapon fighter I know precisely what you mean. The pose was more for a visual affect than a practical one.

please englighten me out of curiosity, when did men start with corzets? i know there are corzets for men as well but since when?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Strangeknowledge In reply to Nils-Iver [2011-01-14 16:13:34 +0000 UTC]

Men have worn corsets since the 1800's although then it was more for medical reason than for fashion.

oh? might you explain that a bit further? you caught my curiosity

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Strangeknowledge In reply to Nils-Iver [2011-01-14 20:13:48 +0000 UTC]

Corset's were used by men as a way to get better posture and a thinner mid-section, But they were also used to treat scoliosis by helping keep the curvature of the back aligned.

awww cool knives! When my grandfather was stationed in Hong Kong during WWII he met a couple of Himalayan solders that had knives like that. Now I don't know if this is real or fake but apparently they had a rule that when they took that type of knife out, they had to get blood on it before putting it away again.

I've only heard that about Samurai and their Katana, but it could be true for other countries as well.
