And now for the last (until I find another NC funny town name with an idea) of the Tour of North Carolina town art, I present:
Rutherfordton - a small town in Rutherford Co.
That's a whole lotta syllables, ain't nobody got time for that!
So locals actually pronounce it abridged down to "Ruff-ton." You can bet a dog towny came up with it.
