Description September, 2004. I loved the Spyro games. Really so; Insomniac was an excellent developer for Spyro on the PSX; and Digital Eclipse did a decent job on his GBA outings. Don't even mention his atrocious PS2 debut in Enter the Dragonfly -- Eurocom later gave him the PS2 treatment he should have received earlier. I hear a new Spyro game is in development, but that would require further research.

Anyway, what better way to describe how I liked the series than to draw Spyro as my style of dragon. That means a sleek and lithe form (a more 'mature' look, if you want), crest horns swept aerodynamically back, thick wing muscles for flying, plus a horn on his nose.

And it's one step closer to explaining what my user avvie is.

He looks great in your style. The wings got a nice look, as well as the tail.
Great pose too, I like the angle of his head.
Insomniac would gain money if only they made a new Spyro. =/ Anyways, Excellent work.

I absolutely HATED the PS2 version of Spyro. I wonder what happened. I miss the good old Insomniac Spyro... Oh well. A good game lives on.

What happened was, Insomniac sold the rights to Universal, or something like that. I'm not sure if I should be crediting Insomniac or Universal for the character.... Yeah, Enter the Dragonfly sucked and doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same page as any other Spyro game. Hero's Tail had some faults of its own, but the new art style (I mean, FINALLY, an in-game Spyro with yellow spines down his back!) and the tweaked double-jump-glide mechanics were welcome overall improvements. And I just loved frying enemies with his electrical breath, too.

The pic is also one step closer to explaining my user avvie....
