Gorgeous picture. The lighting is really nice, especially considering you took it at dusk. Did you use flash?
Her name is Makiko, she's one of my favorites. She's a geisha now, you can see pictures of her debut in my gallery

I try to avoid flash as much as possible when I'm shooting because I prefer the look of natural light. Flash can make even a Geisha look bad if you use it wrong.

I hate to use the flash, but I always found it hard to avoid it at dusk unless all of the conditions were perfect. I've seen it really mess pictures of geisha up, but I've also seen it really pull a picture together, flash can be so tricky. Perhaps it depends on the quality of the camera (which means I might need a better one for my next trip to Japan
She makes for a fabulous geisha now, very elegant. I'm really happy that she decided to become a geisha.
