It's mostly finding a good flat metal photo stock to start with and some subtle bevel. I'm pretty busy of late, but I'll see if I can pull some details together for you.

Lots of layers, and I generally use the render lighting plugin in Photoshop. Fill a layer with neutral gray and run it on that with blend mode set to Overlay. Lets me play around with it afterward and get it just right.

Actually, I would love a version that said "Dramatic Room" in the middle similar to this.
For some odd reason I would suspect the dramatic chipmunk would hang here.
