I know I'm going to get this question, since it's happened before--no, Luna (the girl portrayed here) is not meant to me. You could definitely say she has some traits and personality attributes that are similar to mine, but so does the other main character, Zack Nighting, and a few other characters. So, no, she isn't supposed to be me, or a "fantasy version" of me, or "who I wish to be."

I actually did--what I thought was--the smart idea of leaving too much mention of Luna's ethnicity out of the book, so everyone could kind of think of her however they liked. (I think I mentioned her as "pale" once or twice, but please remember that "pale" does not always immediately mean "light." Dark-skinned people can be pale--Queen of the Damned, anyone?)

Ethnicity aside, I'm not too thrilled with the way Luna came out. She's supposed to be 14yrs old, but here she kinda looks 16 or 17, and she has a different body type. Eh...all the more reason to keep trying, and I am glad to be drawing humans, nonetheless.

Anywhoo fun to do, even though I probably could have spent a little more time on the cemetery.

No, this isn't going to be an alternate cover or a new cover--I like it, but I don't think it fits as a book cover.
