Wow, stunning!
I doubt anyone would complain if you did more of these (photo + drawing).

I love the eerie stillness, both in the original and in the Oula'd version. Β The whole scene is like something out of a fairy tale -- the young woman going into a mysterious forest (kelp forest, in this case), maybe looking for the witch, or a treasure, or escaping something/someone. Β The way she's glancing behind adds to the feeling that she's going somewhere mysterious, possibly dangerous. Β She could just be entering the forest and checking that no one has seen her go in. Β Or maybe she's just heard a strange sound...Β

That is amazing. I like how you exchanged your art into it so naturally. It looks so realistic but at the same time it has the fantasy effect that makes you want to go look for it in real life.

Do Selkies have to deal with sharks? This seems like the p.o.v. of one.

If I remember rightly the only big shark around where selkies would live is the basking shark, and while it is enormous, it's a plankton eater.

Yeah, I read up on Selkies after I posted the comment. I'd say you're right.
That would be a pretty cool pic. To have a Selkie swim alongside a Basking Shark. 'v'

Great job, I'm glad someone knows what a Silkie is supposed to be like, I've been reading a manga that says Silkies are like ghosts that haunt rich peoples mansions wearing silk clothes which is ridiculous by half. A silkie is a type of water fairy that resides in the sea that looks like a seal with it's skin on and in the water then they come up on land, take they're seal skins off to reveal a beautiful young maiden, hide their skin, and explore around on the land in the guise of a human. And if you find their seal skin and hide it in your home they come to your home and will work for you, if you give them back their skin they will, if I recall correctly demolish your home, or injure you, then rush back out to sea.

Two different legends, if I recall right. Selkie with an e is regarding seal maidens, Silkie with an i is regarding fey folk who wear silk.Β Β

I really like the whole. 'dawn-of-photography'-esque feel it has too it, with Oula looking like she may or may not have been doctured for the photo.
