Nah, I think she simply hadn't realized how creepy he was until then. When he begins more actively pursuing her she has an 'oh shit' moment and realizes she should get out of there quickly.

Yeah, I get your confusion. I mean, I remember stumbling upon her stuff and getting SO confused. I mean, I remember seeing fanfiction for it before this comic came out, and I was so confused. I was like "Wait, someone wrote fanfiction for a web comic that hasn't even come out yet?" I was so confused...but Jenny made the characters and story and junk.

I think those r tattoos. Although Elle thinks its make up. Its possible that it is a ritr of passage in his family. There is a drawing with him and his brothers. His youngest bro is the only one that doesn't have the marks

She could be in her early 20s. She is old enough to travel on her own so she is at least 18. Mias looks like he is mid or late 20s. His eye marks does make him older

No but it looks like she was traveling to different parts of the world. She was stayin at a motel. We saw that in an earlier comic page. Plus she was carrying out her grandfather's last wish. Based on that facts alone we can assume that she is old enough to carry out legal responsibilities and actions. Have enough money to travel. If Elle had other family, then anyone who is an adult could have taken care the ashes. Instead we see her checking in a hotel, fullfilling her grandfather's last wish, and traveling long distances. Of course this is just a theory
