More Oula, this was just a colour test to see what worked nicely. Its quite challenging to work with a scene and characters that have a lot of natural greys and not make it look too dreary. I think I need to think about adding more texture in my shading, but liked this piece anyway. It's a good sign that it only took half an hour to colour too.Related content

i know you were focusing on color, and it shows, because it's a very subtle and beautiful approach to the overall color scheme (i agree that greys are difficult to make non-dreary, but you've done so very nicely). but i also love this composition. yes, the figure is placed in the center, but the landscape leads the viewer's eye around the image so that it feels natural and flowing. you also allow a fairly subtle notion of depth, so that it feels as though the viewer has just approached Oula, and she has just turned to smile. i realize i'm perhaps over-analyzing the piece but i really love how naturally you pull off this kind of composition and color harmony, it's astonishing, really
