This is my Fifth Division Captain, Abane Yoshimaru, drawn by the amazing . He is a somewhat old hand of the Gotei, though he only became captain a century ago. He became famous as a traveler and adventurer during his career as a 9th division Shinigami and he wrote a bunch of books about it. In reality, the vast majority of his tales were stolen, bought from others, and flat out lies/exaggeration. He joined the fifth in order to retire, write, and teach survival techniques and other stuff. Now he's the headmaster, and is a snobby guy who pushes away most who try to get close to him or his stories.

He wears the pelt of a white lion for a sash, which had a very long mane. In his books he talks about how he killed and skinned it himself, but really someone else in his group did it and he just took credit. #scumbag
