Hello again kids.As I mentioned during "March Of Robots" a month ago,
I had never fully participated in that art challenge, but had decided to do it this year.
Also during MoR'23, I had given some contemplation about doing the "MerMay" art challenge this year too.
So, since I had never fully participated in "MerMay" either, I decided to go for it too....but also to draw boobs bust'n out all over.
And on that note, some mermaids that I draw this month will be existing aquatic characters from various IP's
while others will be original but bipedal, and still others will be mostly just traditional.
And when I say "traditional"......I mean briny beautiful bare breasted fish-tailed ladies,
(there'll be no seashell bra'd Disney styled mermaids here)
so I'm probably gonna put the "Mature Content" tag on some of these pics.
And with all that said, let's dip our fins, flip our flippers and earn our sea leg badges......
Well I'm a day late in posting once again, sorry kids.
But hey, since the month is nearly over I think that I probably won't post late again.
Now for the 28th day of MerMay'23 this year I turned off my already set on low powered brain
and delved into the realm of copyrighted already existing IP's to steal ideas from, and here we are.
I was looking over my previous Mermay posts again and was gravitating towards
the rule 63 Masters Of The Universe Merman mermaid pic I did for the 25th.
I remembered Merman's gargling voice from the old animated TV show performed by Alan Oppenheimer,
and that he had also performed the same voice in the old G1 Transformers TV show for Autobot Seaspray.
Which reminded me of his spotlight episode "Sea Change",
wherein he has his inter-species love interest in the local alien girl Alana.
Through the use of a magic pool on her planet, Alana is able to transform herself
(err-eee-ah-ah)
into a mermaid so as to assist Seaspray and company in the fight to liberate her people from enslavement
The magic pool is supposedly able to transform Alana and her people into anything,
but within this episode, she only transforms into a mermaid.....and later on, a sexy fembot.
That episode had ended with Seaspray and Alan sailing off into the sunset seemly to live happily ever after,
and possibly have bizarre un-natural relations with each other,
(hey, it was the 80's)
but although Seapray made several other appearances before and in later episodes,
Alana herself in either her humanoid, mermaid or fembot form was alas, never seen again.
What happened to their relationship afterwards is never explained,
but I'll leave all that to the head cannon of individuals who actually like to think about such things
ANYWAY......
I decided that Alana in her mermaid form would make a good subject for MerMay,
but the pic seemed kinda bland, so I also decided to add Seaspray to it.
Unfortunately, I was running behind and felt that I couldn't draw Seaspray's full robot body.
So I skimpped out and drew him mostly in silhouette with just his robot hands.
But it did take the blandness out of the pic overall.
Ink, markers and colored pencils on paper with a little Photoshopping here & there.
