To be completely honest I am insanely proud of how this piece turned out! I thought that I wouldn't . Okay the inspiration for this piece came from Only Us sung by: Laura Dreyfuss and Ben Platt from the musical Dear, Evan Hanson. I absolutely love this song and this ship.

This part reminded me so much of Starlight Glimmer since a huge part of her character was that she was struggles to overcome the fact she has done something horrible in her past. Granted that she often complains about her past but I believe that this is a good character flaw for her. This flaw she has that keeps her rooted in her past failures and shortcomings is one of the reasons why she is one of my favorite ponies in the show. She is scared to make new friends due to her fear of losing another friend if they were to find out her past. She wants to start over and she wants to forgive herself for what she has done.

Now this part of the song made me think of Sunburst when he reconnected Starlight and chose to lie about being a powerful wizard to live up to Starlight's high expectations for him. In the second part of the season 6 opener he confesses to Starlight that he isn't as great as she is seeing as though she is now a student to Princess Twilight Sparkle. Starlight insists that she doesn't care that he wasn't a powerful wizard since he did know a lot of magic. While he was away at magic school he learned a lot of magic but he could not preform it.
