Although it might be quick, there is certainly a lot of energy to be hand in this little sketch. The atmosphere that surrounds the robot and strong level of mystery that one questions when looking at him certainly draws you in and wish to know what his directive and motivations are? What's really nice about this is the frenzy of brush work and textures applied to create the gritty aura and how you haven't place so much attention on aspects of detail and the like. There's certainly a lot of story telling to be had here, the little dashes of red along with the lack of features and dark shading/aura certainly cause the viewer create their own story with this character and the idea that from those red eyes he certianly isn't friendly.
What would be nice to see with this one is a design of him whole rather than just select areas. To see him again as a whole design so that we can see if he is bulky, thin or such would be interesting to see and open him up and for you in terms of creativity and character development.

ahh yes you may have hit the nail on the head a few times there, I much wanted to keep the need to question what/who/purpose of him.
