Until the Nazis used this symbol, the swastika was used by many cultures throughout the past 3,000 years to represent life, sun, power, strength, and good luck.

I think that's why Tite Kubo used this sign for Ichigo's Bankai.....It also means Peace in Japan...YAY!!!! Fact of the Day.

Well i guess it looks like it.
I don't think it was meant to be a swastik but Tite Kubo made it like this T_T

That symbol is just the shape of his swords guard. It's not meant to be a swastika. Don't go saying, "but it's a swastika!" either. The symbol wasn't created by Hitler. The sign wasn't evil before he picked it up. The shape is its own shape. It's not a swastika unless it's the shape, plus a white circle, and a red square. Google it.

The Swastika on Ichigo's sword is actually drawn wrong, but the picture is FREAKING AMAZING. The swastika Ichigo has on his sword actually means good luck and life. Up until Nazi's ruined it

You're being ignorant. I already told you, the shape isn't exclusive to Hitler. It was used BEFORE Hitler, and the shape itself, is not evil. It has meaning to many different cultures/religions. Do you see a red square and a white circle around the sword as well? No? Then it's not the same swastika that Hitler used. Stop being stupid.

white circle and and read are part of the flag yes but that isn't to say nazis don't use the symbol alone. they had rings, shaped doors and various engravings of it alone used to mark the movement. that I know for a fact.

You're still ignoring the fact that the symbol isn't exclusive to Nazis. The symbol was used BEFORE Nazis as well. It was a part of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and others. Just because you see the symbol, doesn't mean it's supporting Nazis.

ya, I believe that it is from other cultures as well. but it is a little too touchy a resemblance for it to be a entertainment icon don't ya think? I mean walk up to a random guy on the street, show him it and ask him "whats the first thing that comes to your mind when you see this?". you see since the holocaust was such a dramatic piece of history it made the symbol universally famous as it to average people. the same way how the word "bitch" means female dog, but doesn't come across that way socially anymore if you know what I mean.

I get what you mean. But that's why people need to educate themselves better. If anything, the symbol on his sword is a Manji. Familiarity and generalization of a symbol or word is no excuse for ignorance... But I can see this argument isn't going any where, so I'm just going to stop now. We're filling his comment page with bickering, lol.

really? I thought it was going somewhere. and the comment box stops posting reply after like three and they turn into private messages. anyway. I don't know, I don't think people are "ignorant" per say. just that double meanings can become turn the other check. I mean you can say bitch, pussy and cock as the "animal" contexts but people are still going to get offended by it. because it got to the point of where it only comes across one way.

I guess in most cases then, it needs to be explained what it was intended to mean, if it has two or more meanings. That way people won't be offended by it. Which was what I was trying to explain, so you didn't think it was an offensive swastika. It was most likely to be a symbol of peace, a Manji. It makes the most sense since this character was made in a Japanese manga.

I know a lot of people will automatically think of Nazi Germany, but that's why others and myself are here. To just inform others that it isn't the same as the Nazis swastika.

By the way, in the original manga/TV show, the symbol isn't even the same shape as a swastika. It's a rectangle, instead of a square. It's just the perspective of this particular drawing that makes it look like a swastika. The only reason I even spoke up, was to point out not all swastikas are bad. We're really just arguing about nothing now, since it wasn't a swastika of any type to begin with, lol. It's just a perspective issue.

I assumed it wasn't only Nazi Germany, 99% of this have more then one origin. I'm sure many people know that. it's still a pretty touchy thing to put though. instead of taking the risk they could have always made it a different shape. I don't know, I've never seen the show
