Guess they didn't know that EVERY picture of celebs in the major magazines, have ALL been edited in Photoshop. Maybe they should focus their energy on attacking them! Regardless of what other people say, I think that you do great work, and you are very beautiful!

i was watching a tutorial once, and the guy described how people think photoshop is you trying to hide all of your flaws, while really, it's just helping an image out. like, with a movie, a person is constantly moving around and you can't just stare at someone's face and criticize like we do with photos.
wish more people could look at shopping from that perspective

Photoshop isn't a verb, and the ability to use it on your photos to enhance color is a skill that just allows others to see them how you saw them.

Wow this has really stirred up a lot of people to say their opinions. I really want to say awesome job for making something and bringing forth so much feeling from all of these people! This really is quite a concept and I'm sure you have heard enough opinions, but to shoot something just as simple as a portrait as yourself so well, with or without photoshop should be credited. I think you did an amazing job with this. I looked at your before and after post-processing on flickr and that just made my opinion feel justified that photoshop is just the cherry on top of any good photo. I think that this is just repetition of the past. Looking at art history every artist who was different and created art differently were harshly critisized, even if they came to be a leader in the next era of art. Like Joseph Turner a romantic artist ( I realize since he's an abstract painter this example is far from relating to your work, but more the concept of how his work was thought of) painted abstract paintings during the neoclassicism era when they used symmetrical and straight lines and painted thier subjects accurately, he was critisized for painting the opposite of that placing importance on the emotions of his paintings. The funny part I think is that the romanticism era followed the neoclassical era, and he was a leading artist from that era. My whole point is you're going to be critisized however you do your work, be sure to sift through all the negative crap and stay positive, you could be in the same position as Turner. You're a very talented artist.

When people think that people use Photoshop to cover up their flaws, they may as well shout about the fact that the model has make-up on and has styled their hair.
They may as well be saying "To be a good photographer, you must take your photos as soon as you get out of bed in the morning."

and people just hate because they dont have the knowledge (or possibly $$) to get their paws on photoshop.
but once they start using it, its pretty freakin sweet.

I'm taking criticism and turning it into something.
In this case, insecurity would be shown through having to explain what I do and don't edit in order to prove a point.
