Description Some more practice on people. This is Hero form the band 东方神起.
The pose was simple and interesting enough. The rusty colored background and red lighting was what i added.
Hope it's large enough.^_^. i didn't shrink it for once.

Hehe~Thank yU! I'm glad you think it looks like Hero. I like the colors too...though i have to say he looks less yellow in the original painting -_-.

Ahhh, My summers almost over! But i've been pretty good, how about you?
yep, this Hero guy really is one of the more "I'm too sexy..." guys from his crew. I think he's too girly for his own good, but wtheck he had a stricking pose so i had to experiment.

OH... great artwork.. I used to like DBSK. they're releasing so much albums and singles in both korea and japan. I cant able to keep up.. lol.. anyway I like this piece.

Thanks, I can't keep up with them either, just have a small collection of song i like. If you read chinese, 1ting is a good website to get new release Asian albums.

i'm not a fan of DBSG, but this is great.. =] are you korean by any chance? i havent met any other koreans on DA yet..
hmm.. constructive criticism.. it's pretty much great as it is,, i especially love the colours... but i think it could be better if his name wasn't there. it distracts from the main focus of the painting. also, i don't know if this is because of your scanner or not, but i think the top right corner looks weird because the colour suddenly cuts off and it's just white. apart from that it looks great

DBSQ’s music is questionable and their image is overall too dorky, but they have a good sense of humor.
I agree that the lighting on the upper right corner looks off. It’s suppose to be the light coming from his left…it looks more normal on paper. I didn’t scan it so it must be the lighting from the digital picture.
I actually am not Korean, but I have found some great Korean artists, some of them may be on DA. Look for Kim Hyoung Jun,Wun Hee Choi or the guy who did THE_PERRER_TUNDRA...i forgot the name.

Xiihee, thank you. I'm glad you're interested in the colors. the coloring process is fairly simple:
1. have some sort of watercolor collection. (i use a 12color set) have a large brush and a detail brush
2. start by roughly blocking in all the dark areas
3. color in the midtones with a light wash of the chosen color, but remember to leave the highlights
4. lastly work on the details.
If you do watercolors, it's very important to have a clear sketch done before painting in the colors.
