Extinct was created by Dr. Redgie for family matters (his wife couldn't have kids and extinct was supposed to act as their child) Dr. Redgie did intend on giving him the ability to use people's fears against them but only for protection reasons. Dr. Redgie worked for a corporation known as S.E.R.P.E.N.T. an evil organization that was but Dr. Redgie didn't have much a choice but to work for them. He was given an underground laboratory so he could do research, experiment etc. This is when Dr. Redgie decided to make extinct. Ever since he started this project he practically lived in his lab as he didn't want to return home empty handed. As soon as the leader of S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Simon serpent, found out about his experiment he was intrigued by it and decided to let him keep going but he would be supervised. The leader kept adding certain things to the experiment so he was easier to work with and Redgie got less and less control over the whole thing. One day Redgie was a bit late to work, he knew that Simon would chew him out for that when he arrived but upon arrival he noticed that the group of scientists were gathered around extinct's containment tube (I forgot what it's called LMAO) they all were conversing among themselves and taking pictures. Redgie seen Simon at the very front of the group and he walked up to him wanting to know what was going on. As Redgie got closer he at first seen ears then little spikes of fur, Redgie paused through the crowd of scientists until he was at the front and placed his hands on the glass chamber his creation was in. Extinct looked damp and very cautious and as soon as their eyes met Simon spoke up "congratulations Dr. Redgie you have created a walking one wolf army!" Confused by this Redgie asked Simon what he had ment by that. "A one man army sir?" Simon then had a look of surprise on his face "Of course! WHY else would he be here?! He will be my corporations personal mercenary! We will have everyone bow to us!" Dr. Redgie was furious about this "I CREATED HIM FOR MY FAMILY NOT TO BE USED AS A KILLING MACHINE!" "He was created for your family? Really Dr. Redgie? Use that smart head of yours think of what we can do with him!" "Simon sir, with all do respect I will not have my creation do anything for this corporation". Simon looked at Redgie with cold eyes "He will not leave this laboratory Dr. Redgie". Redgie turned his attention to his creation who was looking around the lab, "You need a couple of shots but then you'll be all set to go ok?" The wolf looked at him and nodded. Redgie opened the chamber and the wolf kinds of biffed out as he couldn't find the proper footing. Redgie helped him over to an operating table and a couple scientists came in to help him. One of the scientists handed Redgie a syringe with a light green liquid in it "Be careful this stuff is pretty dangerous to us but will be completely safe for him". Redgie took the syringe in shaky hands as he has always hated needles and didn't want to do it but it was his creation so it was his responsibility. Redgie was just about to inject the syringe when the wolf jerked forward and started struggling against the restraints, Redgie jumped back at the sudden movement of the wolf and slipped on some of his notes for the wolf's creation, when he hit the ground the syringe shattered and the liquid got on his hand it burned and sizzles against his skin and as it absorbs in to it. Redgie was screaming in pain and a couple scientists grabbed him and put him into a contamination room. The scientists that took him there stayed back to keep an eye on him and the ones in the testing room gave the wolf his shots and put him to sleep. A few days later Redgie was released from quarantine and was put in his office until further notice. Redgie had night terrors about the wolf and how he will cause mass destruction and killing innocent people without mercy and without remorse. Redgie then decided that it wasn't worth it and let Simon do whatever he wanted with the wolf. But Redgies only warning was "t-that wolf will be the r-reason why the human race goes extinct". Simon of course paid no attention to his warning. Simon does like that word extinct so that's what he decided to name that wolf. Extinct went through months of combat training. Redgie designed extinct to be smarter than a super computer and a quick thinker. After a bit the scientists and Simon decided it was time to celebrate extinct's creation. A party was to be thrown in the lab and friends of the corporation were invited. Of course one of the friends that Simon was close with was Eggman (can't spell for shit sorry it's almost 12:00 on a school night) they conversed about extinct and what he could do. Eggman asked Simon if extinct could do him a favor Simon of course agreed. Eggman handed a piece of paper to Simon and it had shadows information on it. Simon was confused and asked what it was for eggman replied "I want extinct to get rid of this rat for me". Simon nodded and put the paper in his pocket. Extinct spent this party on display in his glass chamber completely chained down on his knees so he couldn't escape. He was confused as to why he was in there had he done something wrong? All these thoughts danced around extinct's head like ballerinas a small tap brought him out of his thoughts, a woman looking to be about 23 years of age stood outside looking at him trying to get his attention. He looked up as much as he could as he had a muzzle on and the end was chained to the floor. The woman smiled and waved extinct's eyes narrowed at her as the scientists and Simon weren't very nice to him. She asked him for his name and he just stared as he couldn't speak or make noise. She looked a bit disappointed and then someone called for her and she walked away. The party was LOUD music was blaring and people were screaming, yelling ,dancing it was starting to give extinct a headache. Redgie finally came out of his office to see everyone dancing he just sighed and scanned the room looking for Simon, he found him and someone he didn't like one bit, Redgie never liked eggman because he found him to be rather annoying and just talked big game but seemed to fail a lot. As he approached the two he heard them talking about extinct and shadow what they could do and what they couldn't do and who was stronger in what field. Redgie interrupted the conversation by asking about extinct, "thought you wanted nothing to do with him anymore?" Redgie started to get agitated "I just want to know what he has to do with shadow" eggman jumped in "Extinct is gonna get rid of that rat for me once and for all" Redgie could hear a slight slur in his voice but ignored it and walked away from the table going to find a drink. On his way over to the probably spiked punch bowl he caught sight of extinct on lockdown. Redgie looked at him and before he realized it his feet were taking him closer and closer until he was directly in front of extinct's chamber. Redgie was told to clean up the mess as Simon who only had a couple drinks was gonna help take some people home who could barely walk. The lab was empty of people except for himself and extinct, Redgie went to get a trash bag and left the room. A drunken scientist who hadn't left yet entered and just barely made it to extinct's chamber and leaned against it still drinking the rest of his bottle and for some reason he thought that it would be a smart idea to let extinct out without supervision, as the restraints left extinct's limbs he stood up and stretched his bones popped a bit and he hopped off the platform and began to walk around looking at things and sniffing them. The drunken scientist walked over to him and extinct could smell the alcohol on him when he was on the other side of the room. Apparently he didn't get the memo the reason that extinct was in there during the party was because he was injected with a substance that will heighten his senses. But also at this point extinct already knew how to use a bit of his magic he could see people's fears and make them a reality that would try to kill them, he could teleport and travel through shadows. But this substance that he was given decided to help him out with his magic too. Extinct stared at the drunken scientist and through his eyes everything started to turn red and the scientist started to turn black. Extinct started to get hungry, his brain basically turned itself of and he teleported over to the scientist who seemed to have forgotten about the wolf he just let out and was on his way over to. Extinct knocked the scientist to the ground and put his and on his head then his new magic started to react, the black that was in the scientist started to absorb into extinct's hand making half of his arm bigger and bleach his claws began to extend and it looked like he had kitchen knifes for claws the scientist screamed in agony as his claws dug into his face cutting his skin and the black stuff? That was the scientist's fear he had deep down. Soon the fear was gone and the scientist was white in color with blood running down his face. Extinct liked this feeling and he wanted more. Extinct started to follow the way that Redgie went, while he was walking his tattoos started to form and all around him the walls and floor started to turn black webbing on the white tile staining them a permanent Gray. As extinct reached the kitchen Redgie was passed out on the floor, extinct thought about feeding on his fear but decided against it, he decided that he would wait the next day for the scientists that treated him like a servant came back. The next day Redgie woke with a start hearing screaming and glass breaking. Redgie ran into the testing room slightly hungover, to see extinct standing in the middle of the room and the scientists all scattered around him on the floor with horrified expressions on their pale bloody faces. As extinct's eyes met Redgie's he felt ashamed of what he had done but he simply had no control over himself. Redgie started to approach extinct who backed away until he came in contact with the back wall. Extinct hung his head in shame and Redgie placed his VERY shaky hands on his shoulders, extinct looked up with years running down his face, "E-extinct y-our to dangerous to K-keep out of your c-chamber... I'm so s-sorry for what y-you had to go through". Extinct only nodded in agreement Redgie took extinct to the bathroom and cleaned the blood off him as best he could and took extinct back to the testing room. Redgie put extinct in his chamber and put extra chains on him and told him to be good from then on. He hugged extinct and told him that he was sorry for leaving him when he needed him most and for not noticing how the others treated him. He closed the chamber and installed a gas machine that will every couple days would put heavy amounts of sleeping gas in the chamber to keep extinct asleep. When extinct fell asleep Redgie cleaned up extinct's horrific mess of bodies and blood. And went to his office to write a letter just in case of anyone ever found this lab or if extinct ever escaped. After he wrote his letter he left his lab coat on his chair and looked over in the corner of his room on the floor, there was a pair of knee high steel toe boots and a pair of gloves and a red cloak the he planned of giving extinct when he took him home because the sun burned him but he never got to, extinct was always barepaw and sometimes his paws got cold on the floor so he made him custom shoes that would always fit him and a matching pair of gloves. On his way out the door Redgie took one last look at extinct and then looked at the tack board on the wall there was picture of was Shadow. Redgie remembered seeing it on the table where eggman and Simon were the previous night. He had no idea what it was for so he shook his head and walked to the exit and walked out. He had told Simon about what had happened and Simon didn't want anything to get out into the public so he sealed off the lab and no one was allowed to speak about extinct. Redgie was assigned to a new lab and wasn't allowed to make anymore lifeforms. After quite some time the lab's entrance became overgrown with plants and trees as it was just a door in the ground in the woods. The overgrown plants his the door quite well. On the inside some light died out and some were flickering, some plants and weeds grew through the tile on the walls and floor. And eventually the chamber ran out of gas and the chains because rusted and breakable and extinct woke up. He easily broke his bonds and recalled what had happened all those years ago. He wandered the empty dark hallways until he came across Redgie's old office the door was unlocked and he walked inside. He walked over to Redgie's old desk and looked at the pages that were somewhat faded but still could be read. "Extinct if you are reading this this means that you've escaped your chamber. Please don't do anything bad please. I want you to do good in this world. You were basically my son and I left you when you needed me I'm so sorry, I will never forgive myself for that, I don't expect you to forgive me for it either. On your left in the corner on the floor is a gift. I hope you like them. With love Redgie. Angry with himself extinct walked back in his lab and took of his cloak putting it on the table. He looked up to see now 3 pages of hedgehogs on them. He studied them for a minute and remembered that he was instructed to kill Shadow. He figured he could use the other two to find him and nothing was going to stand in his way. After all he was doing what he was created for, he was supposed to follow orders and do as told. Family doesn't matter as his is dead now. Extinct once again became the merciless fighter he was before until that faithful day he met that blue hedgehog.
