Yeah: I always pictured the ship as a shadowy silhouette that is easy to misinterpret. Popping it to the back will give it a larger scale, that's for sure!

Thanks! I have been making notes about a scene from each chapter to illustrate. Originally I had wanted it to be right as Ransom decided to run around the house to see what was happening... but having so much in the picture was to much: house with porch, ship, outhouse, Weston and Devine wrestling with the boy, AND Ransom running up the drive. I still think the ship is not quite large enough...

It's so hard to capture the essence of a scene which is meant to be observed through the eyes of someone who is rushed, confused and out of breath. You simply can't put in that much detail, I agree!

I think I know how to make the ship appear larger... I should bring the small outhouse and a hedge in front of it by switching the layers. Then it would have more of the appearance of an observatory that he first mistook it for.
