my eyes were really drawn to this shot...i like it, its a bit blurry on the full view but still its a great picture

studpup In reply to kmascilak [2007-11-21 00:17:57 +0000 UTC]

yeah. i have thought to redo this, but whatever... it was just one of those spontaneous moments and the blur reminds me of that i guess

thanks though!

studpup In reply to LilFairie [2007-05-02 00:38:24 +0000 UTC]

thanks. it's funny, i get that a lot - the clearer thing. at the time, i think i wanted a bit of the noise. ah well

studpup In reply to LilFairie [2007-05-02 04:56:45 +0000 UTC]

eh, it's good to have feedback either way. and i will try to do clearer versions of that sorta thing too. it's just i've been focusing more on experimenting with blurring and noise over the last while. sometimes those things that can seem like flaws can add their own bit of character, i think

Those random photos often turn out so great don't they? This one is so sad but at the same time filled with hope. The contrast between black and white makes it full of life.

thank you!!!

i was in such a rush that day, but when i passed that alley... i *had* to stop and take pictures. glad to see it was worth it. (my cousin has a large canvas print of this hanging on one of her walls. it's kinda cool.)

wildrose71 In reply to studpup [2007-04-07 08:11:23 +0000 UTC]

Cool!!! I will get a print of this one for sure! I love those moments when you just *have* to stop. I have one of those somewhere....should get it on a cd (it is on paper now). It is of a big spiderweb with glittering drops in it. Amazing and I had to stop on my way to work to go home and get the camera

i hope you find the piece. it sounds interesting!

nice compo, but your setting seems kind of awkward. I guess thats the effect

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

studpup In reply to couleur [2006-09-10 01:04:10 +0000 UTC]

thanks. i don't really remember what my setting was at the time. i'm still relatively new, plus that pic was totally random. i happened to have my camera while walking to school in the rain. the ripples caught my eye, but i didn't have time to get more than two or three shots before school...

I'm fond of the way the reflection of light seems to clear a path between the ripples. Kind of like a king's court.

i was thinking about a lot of stuff at the time. not sure how much of it is in the piece and how much is just from the piece.
