I loved Kili and Fili in the films, and I too have a crush on Kili . You know you're a fangirl of a character when you get jealous when a potential love interest is said to be put in the next movie :/
I don't know if you've heard, but apparently PJ has made a new character, an elf Tauriel, to expand the role of Kili by having him have a crush on her. Normally I would be ok with expanding a characters role, but I'm not a huge fan of non-canon romance sub-plots in movies (hypocrite me as I am a romance fanfiction writer), and I was NOT happy when I found out it was Kili having the crush...go me for being a crazy fangirl huh?

OMG RLY??. I knew about Tauriel (and Evangeline Lilly is going to play her, the woman of Lost)but i didnt knew that she would be there for Kili...
and i understand you, believe me. I have to admit a part of me dislike it too. but you know, i was thinking the other day that i would like to read a fic where there's a niece of Bilbo that have to join the company with him cause she was living there with him and she wants to go or whatever. and then you know Kili would fall in love with her and vice versa. I wanted to read Kili in love :3 and now im gonna SEE it. i like the idea. But dislike it at same time, cause i dont like HER for him. Dunno. she's too old maybe. *shrug* not sure why but i dont like her much for him. Maybe seeing the movie would change my mind about her.
Also there where rumours about her with Legolas. and THAT really displeases me i really dont want Legolas with her. or anybody i think. Not because he's my totally love from all this saga, but i couldnt see him in love. not in the movie, but i like to read him in love in FF -yeah, doesnt make a thing of sense xD-
anyway, i just hope at least she wouldn't get with Legolas and, if she would be with the most inocent preciousness dwarf, i hope it will be believable.

I understand completley: wanting Kili to fall in love but not with Tauriel the elf. Still, I'm not going to decide on how I feel about Tauriel as a character until I watch the movie, I don't think she's worthy of full on hate until she shows what shes got on the big screen . If you read the interview here it's a little more reassuring: [link] . The actor Aiden Turner states that he thinks Kili knows that nothing would really happen between them. Don't fret about the whole potential Legolas romance, I looked on the lotr wikia and PJ has confirmed that there will be no romantic relationship between Tauriel and Legolas. I see Legolas as a strong and independent character who doesn't need to fall in love to make the story more interesting. Personally I think that love sub-plots like these that are not canon really shouldn't be on the big screen if they're not in the original books. But what can you do?
I'm actually writing the outline for a potential Kili x OC fanfiction, but I want to get through finals and finish my current story before I jump into that project. If I were to note you the link when I finally post it would you consider reading it?

*sigh of relief* THANK YOU for the information about Legolas now i can breath again lol. And i TOTALLY agree with you about him, he's just perfectly well done and conceived to have a romance plot. And i think Kili is well enough too, but still i wouldn't mind if he has some romance as i said maybe it could be cool. he's young and kind of inocent and funny, and it would be totally interesting to see his reaction when he is in love . and OMG THE INTERVIEWβ™₯ he's so sweet. also i agree, he' gonna think NOTHING could happen cause she's "too much" for him. poor thing. he's amazing.
and Kili isnt going to want or fall in love with out a fight with himself first, i think. he's gonna reject the idea. pretend it isnt happening to him, deny it.

and you know, i'm not gonna decide if Tauriel is worth it yet neither cause you're right, i have to see her in action first. Still, i dont have much expectatives.

Hooray for breathing! . Legolas is perfect the way Tolkein made him. Plain and simple :nod. I liked how Aiden responded to the interview as well. I'm very excited for the movie ! I won't hate on Tauriel yet, despite the fact that she isn't canon. I will watch the movie before I decide how I feel about her as a character.

When you say novel style fanfiction, what do you mean exactly? Sorry I'm just not sure what you mean

i mean like long type i love to read those fics that are really a journey, like a lot of chapters ^^
Yeah i love Legolas in the books as well. But i have to admit i felt in love with Orlando's interpretationβ™₯ he gave Legolas a tinge of man that book-Legolas didn't have. and i love that. its just perfect.
I dont hate her neither. just gonna sit and wait to see her on screen. then gonna make a formal opinion.

Oh, I get it now ! I thought that was what you meant but I wasn't 100% sure. I love writing novel length stories, I just haven't finished and posted one yet . Sadly the fic I am working on isn't very long, only 4 chapters, but that doesn't mean it will lack detail or anything .
Orlando as Legolas was beautiful, he really brought the character to life . I'm kind of excited to see what she will bring to the story, and when I write and post my fanfiction hopefulyl people will tell me what they think of what my character brings to their story .
