Description I saw this poster and had to photogtaph it! Also I knew there are quite a few loco nuts in the Us who would love to see this!

I've always wanted a model railway layout, but I've never had the space. My uncle has a small one at my nans old house, or he used to, I'm unsure if he still does.

I would like one later on, when the ids have grown up a bit and we have more space. Funnily enough I was never interested in trains as a kid!

I've been interested since about two or three, started at a very early age.

That bodes well for my son then. He'll be 3 soon and everytime I play a steam loco video or one comes on the telly he comes running to investigate! Has his own little Thomas train set too!

That's roughly how I started out, I ended up in London quite a lot as I had family down there, and travelled a lot of the Undeground system, which was my first love really. Then I started to get more interested in the Intercity trains we used to get to London, as well as the commuter trains we used in the area. Steam came later, and that was awesome to me. I also used to have (may still do actually, though I've not looked for years) a collection of Thomas The Tank Engine videos and books. Rev W. Awdry ftw!

Now, I used to live in the midlands, and i don't ever remember seeing a steam loco running on the lines there. If I had I would have been hooked because I defy anyone to not be impressed when one of these awesome machines comes flying in,whistle blowing. But imagine a time when that was the norm. When you'd catch a steam train to go to work. I would SO love that!

Same. I used to live in Milton Keynes which is near enough dammit the midlands. Not a lot of steam at all, but then when I moved up north it all changed. I used to go on Santa Specials on the ELR as a kid, and that was what got me into steamers, and I've never been off them since. When compared to everything we've got nowadays, even (dammit am I really going to say it? Why yes I am because its true...) the Pendolino just cannot beat a good old steamer. Though because I'm a modern kid following the modern way, I also have a love for the modern stuff. But you cannot beat pedigree...

Ah, one of those modern things. Big people carriers!

Hehe, indeed. And they're getting longer, currently they are all 9 cars in length and shortly, along with two new units, most will be 11 cars in length. Which is needed due to overcrowding issues at certain times.
