I just tried bluring the very back but it becomes a big distraction (doesn't feel part of the piece) I therefore toned down the redish color so that it doesn't pop out too much and I also blured it just a tad....

Great movement in this piece.
I really like the colors you used on the mountains/terrain.
Like Mikey said, maybe blurring that one layer of mountains in the far background to really create that deep space even just a little better. Also, possibly putting a tad more detail on the cactus in the foreground would bring it forward even more, not enough detail to draw too much attention to it though. Nothing more.
