The Republic of Listania is a nation located in the northern hemisphere of the Ravenheim continent, it used to be a kingdom before its annexation by the Great Alemania Empire.

Most of Listania has a temperate climate with the northern region having a subarctic climate, the middle region having a humid continental climate, and the southern region having an oceanic climate.

Listania have a mountain range spanning from its southern region all the way to the northern region called the Mira Mountain Range, this mountain range has one of the largest uranium deposits in the world buried under it.

Listania as a kingdom is a rather peaceful and neutral country, its government consisted of a king and a queen ruling alongside a parliament, its government however is not free of corruption and power-hungry politicians. In the early 1900s, the Listanian Kingdom was annexed by the Great Alemania Empire, its moderately sized but technologically inferior military was quickly subjugated by the larger and better equipped Alemanian Army.

Most of the Listanian citizens, especially peasants, were relegated to second class citizens after its annexation, they were treated with inequality and often mistreated by pure-blooded Alemanian or first-class citizens.

The young and able-bodied were often drafted into the military while others that are old or less suited to military service were often forced to work in factories or mines with less than minimum pay and no regards to their safety whatsoever. and worse, those who oppose the Empire are sent to labor and concentration camps where they are forced to work until their death eventually come, not dissimilar to the Sovetsky's Gulags.

The tax was high and poverty was commonplace at least until after the First World War that lasted from 1932 to 1946. After the First World War, the economic status of the Listanian citizens was improved by several margins with the economic reform, however, there was still prejudice against the Listanian citizens by the pure-blooded Alemanian, especially those in the higher echelon of the government.

In the late 1950s, several groups of college students organized a protest advocating for equal rights to those discriminated against by the Alemanian Government, the movements began small but slowly gained popularity by the second class citizens of the Great Alemanian Empire, at the height of the protest on 12 October 1959, the Alemanian Military Police were assembled to ward off the protester from the Imperial Palace.

The next day as the protesters assembled and marched to the Imperial Palace, they were gunned down by Alemanian Military Police and tanks, casualties counted in the hundreds with thousands more injured, the students who were suspected of instigating the protest were arrested, executed, and paraded to put as examples of what will happen to those who oppose to the might of Alemanian Government.

In the coming weeks, the Imperial State of Listania declared independence as the Republic of Listania, angry mobs of citizens overthrew the local Alemanian government all across the state and parading the head of some of the most ruthless Alemanian Governors on a spike like what the Gallians had done in their past revolutions.

Thousands of Listanian-blooded soldiers, and Alemanian sympathizers in the Army, Navy, and Air Force defected to the Republic bringing along numerous state of the art military equipment such as tanks, guided-missile destroyers and nuclear submarines, and fighter jets and bombers.

The Republic began to form blockades along the border of the country preparing for the inevitable invasion by the Empire, on the other side, the Empire was afraid that a full-blown military invasion of the Republic would boil down to a nuclear exchange resulting in mutually assured destruction.

Despite its declaration of independence, the International Union of Nations did not officially recognize the Republic of Listania as a sovereign state because they gained their sovereignty with military force. Out of 104 members of the IUN, only 5 officially acknowledged the Republic of Listania as a sovereign state, they consist of the Artorius Federal Republic, the United Kingdom of Eden, the Espaigne Kingdom, the Bismarcian Federal Republic, and the Union of North Ermerica.

The Listanian Military consists of a Ground Defense Force, a Maritime Defense Force, and an Air Defense Force. The Listanian Military maintains a moderately sized Armed Force with around 70000 reserve personnel and around 50000 active personnel with around 3000000 fits for military service.

The Listanian Ground Defense Force consists of around 23000 active personnel, they operate around 300 tanks, 220 tanks destroyers, 1500 APCs, 900 IFVs, 12000 utility vehicles, and several other vehicles such as self-propelled artilleries, self-propelled mortars, etc. They also operate fixed-wing ground attack aircraft, transport aircraft, and rotary-wing aircrafts independent from the Air Defense Force.

The Listanian Air Defense Force consists of around 9000 active personnel, it operates 280 combat aircraft (mostly fighter jets), 40 strategic bombers, and 120 utility aircraft (includes helicopters).

The Listanian Maritime Defense Force consists of around 18000 active personnel, most of the ships in their service incorporates advanced automation technology significantly reducing the required crew numbers to operate them, they currently operate around 70 Patrol Boats, 30 Guided Missile Corvettes, 25 Guided Missile Frigates, 15 Guided Missile Destroyers, 5 Guided Missile Cruisers, 2 Nuclear Submarines, 2 Aircraft Carriers, and 30 Auxiliary Vessels (Includes Large Landing Crafts/Transport Ships/Troop Transports, Command Ships, SIGINT Ships, Tenders/Replenishment Ships.).

Although the Republic implements the conscription system to maintain its military strength, it also allowed those that are against violence to serve the armed forces in the logistics department, medical department, R&D, etc. However, citizens could also pay Draft Exempt Tax to avoid military service.

The prosperous economy of the Listanian Republic is formed upon its uranium and oil industries, Listania is one of the largest uranium and oil exporters in the world. Despite its questionable status as a sovereign state, it remained one of the strongest and economically prosperous countries in the continent.

The Listanian Republic’s main arms trading partners are the Artorius Federal Republic, the United Kingdom of Eden, the Espaigne Kingdom, the Bismarcian Federal Republic, and the Union of North Ermerica. The Listanian Republic mainly produces arms locally, but also import arms sometimes.

The Republic’s government is rather liberal with anti-socialism and anti-Alemanian sentiment, men and women have equal rights however only those who have served the compulsory 12 months of military service are allowed to vote.

The Republic of Listania is also one of the countries with the lowest crime rate, this is mostly attributed to how harsh criminals are treated in the country. While most criminals who committed minor federal crimes or felonies usually end up getting imprisoned, those who committed more severe federal crimes or felonies such as serial murder, corruption, political frauds, terrorism, treason, etc often get sent to work off in mines across the country or straight up executed and those who are released got their right to vote revoked.
