I would like to request a print of this octopus. Β Or could I buy the high res. image and you could send that to me? Β I don't mind printing it myself if that's easier for you. Β Whatever you are comfortable with. Β Thank you so much!

Thanks. What fascintaes me is I drew it slightly larger than real life. Usually I'm drawing dangerous animals at a small scale. Seeing this thing at the size it really exists and knowing how dealy it is leaves me in awe.

nature is just one of those things that never fails to blow me out of the water
especially cephilopods...wow, i know i totally spelled that wrong. hence wanting a marine bio major, not english...

Thanks, just don't touch. They are so venomous even a picture of them can be deadly.

It won't be out until Feb of next year, so you have some time to save up the loose change from under the couch cushions. Your drawings are coming along, I like them better now without the blueline showing, glad that worked for you.

This is for BEASTS!: How to Draw Fantastic Predatory Animals. I actually saw one of these at a pet store recently-they kill with one bite, and any kid with $30 can pick one up.

This one place, Aquacon ([link] ) used to sell blue-rings.
Unfortunately, they stopped selling them now.

Well they are highly poisonous and they only have a lifespan of about 6 months so I'm kind of glad they are not sold more. Some animals make better zoo exhibits than pets. Still if the price is right I don't know if I could resist having a pet that glows like a neon vegas sign.

If you have 800 bucks to burn, you could get a mimic octopus.

Mimics are so cool! But unfortunately they make lousy pets. Mimics don't do well in captivity. Unless you have an aquarium about the size of an RV you won't get to see any of their mimic activity. Plus they stress out and die when taken out of their natural habitat.

Really?
Then whoever bought that one in the local fish store for $700 was being robbed, ne?

That is actually really cheap if they got a true mimic octopus, but it is sad because there are so few in the wild they should not be in the pet trade.

Maybe there are lots of them, and people can't tell which fish is the genuine and which is the molluscan Mel Blanc?
