Yep ! Using a low speed was the right choice to blur the background and increase the speed impression !

Yeah, it's quite important to know when to use which settings when shooting drifting, but that's something you get the hang of with time!

Normally i shoot in the area 1/60 to 1/125, because I like doing pan' shots, but there's also something fascinating about a car perfectly frozen mid drift!

With the correct modifications, yes. In the Finnish drifting championships we currenly have three different teams competing with the BMW 3 series chassies. This one is the most successful one of the three!
