Lyra, put away that stuff before the robot police show up! Also, that's the wrong hand...This is what I would imagine Lyra would do if she was a robot.
Using 3 colours (+ eye colour), one for each 'section'. Lyra's coat colour is so annoying to shade! It does not cooperate at all. Also changed my robot design a little, now includes the ability to bend at the mid point.

Once basic manipulators have been installed, the Equitech Mark 2 equinidroid can install most hardware and software upgrade packs by itself, with the exception of stages that require deactivation. This image shows Alpha prototype LYRA attempting to install manipulators itself with limited success.
All functions have been enhanced and streamlined over the Mk1, with a new polyceramic shell (guaranteed scratch proof, stain proof and dent and char resistant), tripled battery life, enhanced personality software, lightly heated soft-touch hoof pads and doubled carrying capacity.
A 3.5% price drop is anticipated for the finished model and many of the advancements can be integrated into a Mk1 for budget-conscious customers.

I think it's got something to do with the requirement for fine motor manipulation of multiple objects at once. (i.e. playing a string instrument)

really? becauce i have seen Twilight Sparkle manipulating lots of objects ,and if you think is becauce shes uber powerfull Rarity does it too & she isn't that powerful.

the levels of coordination are dependent on your levels of concentration. you could never really get lost in the moment and play the music without focusing specifically on it. in lyra's case the combination of both hands and magic would be best.
