2 weeks work, living like a hermit just pummeling pummeling past anything thats stood in my way...to produce this.
Ladies and Gentlemen I present my 20th Anniversary Sonic the hedgehog commemorative piece.
As a kid I grew up with sonic, it's where my roots are. If there has been one constant through out my life it's been him. I can still remember the first day i got my game gear and sitting in the alcove where my dad's hi fi sits, plugging in my game gear and playing sonic 1, from that day onward I'd follow him all the way and up to now. In my current work aside from the sonic stuff it's clear to see where i'm inspired. I owe it all to the talented people at sonic team back in the 16-bit era and with the new blood of the next gen era. It's their hard work and their drive thats placed in me a fire that really for the first time in a very long time has no sign of being snuffed out.
So...the piece itself is based wholly on the 3 genesis games and the newly anticipated title Sonic Generations. It's been tossed about thinking about what I wanted to do and my main objective, nostalgia. It's these memories that people remember, when they beat the last boss on sonic 2 for the first time and they hear sweet dreams; or with the lock-on sonic and knuckles where you beat sonic 3 and you stand there in triumph as the Death Egg collapses into the Floating Island. My personal memory is the attack on the Flying Fortress after cascading through wave after wave of badniks in Sky chase. But as a whole, this is all of it crammed into one. I hope everybody enjoys this as much as I have creating the idea and moulding it into what you see before you.
