I was given a birthday present with this lovely blue chiffon ribbon which looks JUST right around Ziggy's neck... of course, he doesn't think so and did his very best to maul it and claw it and destroy it - but while it lasted, it was cute

Olivia is very sweet with him - sniffed at his tail and they rubbed noses and then went about their business unfazed. Monzi... is not very happy at all (she considers herself top cat) and Kira was the most growly and hissy. Ziggy's domain now extends to three rooms upstairs.

Well it sounds like you are making progress. That is always good. My one cat who hissy for about 2 weeks the last time I brought a new cat home but she settled down.

I know it is and I've had huge medical bills when we adopted Chloe and Tinkerbell. But they are fine now and bring us so much joy!

Right now all my cats are good (knock on wood quick) except for Munchkin. Her pheno levels are where they belong, but she dropped almost a complete pound to 6.5 lbs. Someone suggested I feed her high calorie food to help with weight gain so I have been hand feeding her kitten chow and she loves it. Next vet visit, they said they would do a complete screening to make sure nothing else is going on.

Just make sure the diet is not too fatty if you are feedeing kitten food only. Kittens need a hi-calorie diet to help their growth, which adults should not require. Let me know how things go. Olivia (8) has also started dropping in weight. Maybe she's shedding her coat due to it being summer (she's a furry Maine Coon) but we feel she's looking scrawnier. Always worrying about our 'babies', aren't we.

The kitten food is in addition to her normal indoor purina cat food. When I am home, I do see her go eat at the regular food dishes. She eats just a little but takes many trips. I actually think she looks a bit more solid, but I don't want to weigh her. Michael sneaks her kitten chow too. She thinks it's treats. Hope Olivia is just shedding. My girlfriend has two Maine Coones but hers are actually overweight, the oldest weighing in at 24 lbs!

Is moist food more fattening than the dry biscuits? Kira lives virtually on pouches only, due to her injury and half a tongue and snaggly teeth

I'd have to read the labels to know if moist is more fattening. But the reason why my vet wants me to give dry food only is he wants me to save the moist foods for medications. (This did not work on long-term use for my Munchkin) My girlfriend's vet knows she feeds Fancy Feast to them and perhaps that is a little higher in fat.
