Description A new commission featuring a late twelfth-century widowed noblewoman named Eleanor, in the reign of King John, who is married off against her will (by the king) to a wealthy mercer named Thomas. Though she's reluctant, the mercer slowly woos her over-- here, he's portrayed showing her a length of samite. However, her father (the glowering man in the upper right hand corner) is not happy.

This is my tribute to all the amazing montage compositions done over the years by artists like Pino Daeni and Clyde Caldwell.

Well if this marriage turned out alright in the long run that would make it unique amongst the stratagems of His Grace King John Lackland!
