can't you tell i'm pissed about the current events going on in america

i made this because my school is having a "usa day" tomorrow for a spirit week. it makes me so pissed because it's such a rich kid school that they have no idea what fearing for your life is like, and they continue to support patriotism in light of how terrible the country is doing. man, fearing for my own life is so patriotic, amirite.
okay, here's the thing. there is nothing out there that pisses me off more than people being ignorant or joking about school shootings. while my school hasn't been shot up, thankfully, i came very close multiple times in my old school during freshman year. i won't go into too much detail, but what you really need to know is that i was threatened by an abuser for two years that he would shoot up his school and blame it on me. because of this, i can't go to assemblies or be in a large gathering of students, otherwise it turns me into a hyperventilating, sobbing mess. but what i can't handle the most is the fact that there are probably so many other people out there facing the same shit i did, and there's so many ways to prevent these things from happening, yet the government refuses to hear our cries for help because of """the second amendment""" or some bullshit.
does human life matter less than a piece of paper created two centuries ago? do you really think that the founding fathers signed that paper knowing full well that one of their amendments was going to be responsible for the murder of hundreds, thousands of innocent citizens? do you really think that you are above the loss of human life??
but i mean, what do i know. i'm a teenager, i'm stupid. my brain doesn't fully develop until i'm 25. and even though i have post-traumatic-stress and an anxiety disorder fueled by that pts, and there's probably many other students out there like that, and that there have been over 20 shootings in 3 god damn months, i can't be heard because my prefrontal cortex isn't done developing.
how many lives are going to be lost until students can actually have a voice that doesn't just hit a wall?
