.i dreamed this creation up as a baddie for our RPG characters to fight, and I think to this day it remains the most infamous. shapeshifting, immune to all but the most powerful magic, fast as lightning and twice as deadly, these physically blind creatures called " Acolytes" relied entirely on something like a psionic form of echolocation. i designed these buggers to be very deadly and very hard to kill, but kept them blissfully rare - kinda like a mini-boss, and that's exactly how I wanted them.

the way that I always portrayed them moving - skittering across walls, dangling from ceilings, whipping from one handhold to the next - reminded my friends of the Sentinels from "The Matrix," which is where the "Squiddie" nickname came from.
