Wonderful stuff.
A photograph about photography and the portrait...all the elements exist: focus, the photo plane, sharpness, fall-off, depth of field, movent due to the (1/2?) shutter speed, the half hidden head, (some, it looks, deliberately) and the characters, all in their straitforward and honest acceptance of being photographed.
Also makes me think of the ancient Egyptian meaning of the word for Sculptor: He Who keeps Alive.
Superbe.

I so love photos like this back when there were professional photographers with large format cameras who "sold" all kinds of enterprises on doing group pictures for their events.  Nowadays all those people would bring their cell phones, take little snaps and never call a photographer.
