Eh, GamKar is pretty unhealthy an such but i ship it anyway. In my opion/little homestuck fantasy world where everything goes my way and GamKar totes cannon, if they wouldve just, talked and kept each other grounded a bit better the possibilities are endless. ( *COUGH COUGH* REDROM ) sorry i got a cold. Anyway im just stating info everyone already knows ^^ยด

What I don't get is, Hussie specifically said in the Trollmance page that a moirallegiance is a mutually beneficial relationship, and that they keep each other grounded. However, Nepeta gains nothing from Equius, Feferi gained nothing from Eridan, and Kanaya gained nothing from Vriska. Maybe if Karkat<>Gamzee had lasted for more than one encounter Karkat may have benefitted from all the clowny bullshit and learned to be less angry all the time, but we'll never know. It just seems to me like they're all one-sided.
Whereas, I have two characters who I consider moirails (they don't coexist with Homestuck so it's not canon, but they're totes moirails) and I have a palemate irl. In both cases both parties are kept in check by the other--I wouldn't consider it a moirallegiance if not (in that case it'd be more of just a caring friendship). Yet, just like the heroic/just rule, this is yet another tidbit of worldbuilding that Hussie has thrown away for convenience's sake.

I personally do not find any of the quadrants healthy when compared with human friendships and relationships, but that's because they're made to work in an imaginary alien culture where the threat to their lives are quite different from what would be experienced anywhere else.
As for the relationships you mentioned, Feferi and Kanaya did both gain from their brief moirail relationships, though what they gained was never equal to what they put into the relationship. Feferi gained a sure way to keep her lusus fed through Eridans orphaning, however his romantic intentions for her as well as his emotional baggage meant the relationship was never equal and so it fell apart. Similarly Kanayas moirailship meant she was kept in Vriskas confidence as a friend, however her desire for romantic intentions with Vriska meant that she couldn't fulfil the proper moirail role which is what Vriska truly desired from her and so that fell apart as well.
Nepeta is the only one of the trolls to have been shown gaining from the moirail relationship, because had she not had Equius' guidance to keep her grounded she would have participated in FLARPing, a dangerous pastime that led to: Tavros losing use of his legs, Terezi losing her sight, Sollux locking himself away, Vriska losing her eye and arm and Aradia dying. He was also the only troll who would listen to her and her thoughts on romance, and he sought also to better her manners and her actions.ย
Not yet knowing what exactly the deal is with Gamzee I can't say much on that subject until Homestucks end.ย
More importantly, your rant was... kind of interesting but really out of the blue? Generally its always nice to comment on the actual art itself before delving into such things, particularly when there's no authors comment asking for discussion on the subject. Just something to keep it mind!
